10 weeks pregnant and struggling

Hi,
I’m 10 weeks pregnant and I’m struggling with the constant nausea and exhaustion. To top all this off, every night after my dinner, I’m throwing up and have cramps. I am barely seeing my husband as I get in, have a small dinner and then between the bathroom and bed, I’m done for the night.

Any advice? First time mum btw.

Generally it gets better after the first trimester, I certainly slept most of my free hours!! Obv the lack of food is making it worse.

What are you eating for dinner? If you're not vomiting after lunch what are you having then? Can you try lighter food or different foods?

Are you managing to drink enough? Dehydration is the big concern so it's worth speaking to the GP If you're struggling to keep anything down

10 weeks was when I felt worst, I just spent all my time when not in work in bed (or in the bathroom). It did ease off after about 14 weeks, although I had sickness until 20 weeks.

It is really shit. You're allowed to say it's shit. I hated being pregnant and am so relieved I don't have to do it again. Some women feel great and that's so lucky for them, but when you feel like shit it's a slog.

All you can really do is get through it. Would you consider anti-sickness drugs? Otherwise just make sure you sleep and drink plenty of water.

I’ve started eating lighter meals in hope that it will help but no such luck yet.

Just lots and lots of sympathy here. You are probably at the peak of your symptoms here and I promise it will get better. I am 15 weeks today and feel almost normal and with my first pregnancy I was feeling myself by about 14 weeks. You are doing something so very new and difficult and gruelling and please accept all the help and support and rest that you’re able to get.

And if someone tells you to try a ginger biscuit you have my permission to end them.
