What to expect from anesthetist appointment?

Currently 36+5 and waiting on a date for my ELCS. I have been booked in for an appointment with the anesthetist when I will be 37+1. What can I expect from this appointment? Is this otherwise known as the pre-op or is that a separate appointment?

Usually just take a history... have you had anaesthetic or surgeries before, have you got any medical conditions, do you take any medications, do you have allergies etc. Might check your weight. They'll likely talk you through the procedure, possibly get you to sign a consent form (but usually that's covered by the surgeon).

Thank you @CatSeany!
I've already signed the consent form for the ELCS.

Sorry meant to say I'll be 38+1 at the appointment.

I'm hoping this means the section will be planned for the week after 🤞🏽
