I've had them for a month or so but oh my god this last week 😭 absolute agony. I've been using germoloids which seemed to help for a day or two and now they are bigger and angrier and more painful than before!! I've filled in an e-consult for a GP to phone me but won't be until Wednesday.. I'm nearly in tears, I sit down on the toilet even just to wee and after when it de-clenches after I'm yelping in pain. Sorry this is gross - but effin help me!!

To add- when putting the cream on I can feel a large external pile and there's one small area on it that doesn't feel any different to touch but is absolute agony really really sore where the rest isn't. I'm worried the cream is burning it? With such a big bump I just can't get a look at it myself and if my husband does then I don't think I'll ever have sex again.

Help! 😭

I filled a little freezer bag with some ice, wrapped it in a sock and lay in bed with that shoved into my underwear whimpering with the pain of mine the week before dc3 was born. It really helped while in use because it numbed it and reduced the swelling. If I had to get up and do anything it was painful again though. You have my greatest sympathy 💐

Don't wait so long, the longer you wait the worse they get, the Dr will give you a very strong cream and hey presto they go like magic. Ring in the morning you defo shouldn't have to suffer say its urgent to reception.

Sorry for coming in with a question here but what happens to these piles during childbirth?? I'm pregnant and also have them and getting worse and terrified of what will happen when pushing a baby out

Word of advice, get a swimming ring - extra large. Was a life saver for me while I was waiting for the cream to work its magic!

Also having the same issue!! Are we not suffering enough already??!! OMG @Loput also panicking about this too!! Please someone tell us it will all be ok!!

I second ice packs as it does give great temporary relief! I found some reusable postpartum gel ice packs on Amazon and I’ve also been having warm baths with Epsom salt which has helped too.

still they r not shifting and I’ve also been using the cream and suppositories 😩😩😩 little bastards!!

If you go into Superdrug website you can buy the proscription Anusol Plus HC, it’s not the over the counter stuff. You just fill in an online form and the pharmacist approves it before posting. Get the Suppositories (the ones you put inside you if it internal) not the cream - actually get both for internal and external.

This cures it for most people but not me during pregnancy, however it did keep it at bay and calmed it down a lot.

I agree, definitely get a pile cushion and take luke warm baths with salts.I got pile steroid creme from the doctor which helped too. You have my sympathy as when I had it I could barely walk. They said they were thrombosed but as I was pregnant they couldn’t do anything until after the birth.
