I'm scared to get too hopeful

Pregnant (somewhere between 7-8 weeks) after losing a baby due to angular pregnancy (sort of borderline ectopic) last September.

Had an early 'reassurance' scan last week at EPU, was measuring 7 weeks, baby in the correct place this time, we saw the heartbeat.

Things do feel different this time, much stronger pregnancy symptoms (including sickness) and I haven't had any bleeding or cramping so far. But I'm too scared to relax.

I'm not sure what I'm asking for, exactly. A hand hold or any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

I’ve been there too OP. Fingers crossed everything goes well for you.

I tried to detach myself in the first trimester and almost forget and pretend I wasn’t pregnant to reduce the disappointment in case it didn’t work out. Luckily it did though and hopefully will for you too.

I'm in the same position OP, right there with you! Had a complex miscarriage in May (a molar) and am now 8 weeks pregnant and terrified. I had a scan a couple of weeks ago at my local EGU to rule out another molar, and we saw a baby this time! I have another next week and am really so nervous. Not sure I have any words of advice, other than taking it one day at a time

Interesting you said that about symptoms, I'm also much much more nauseous this time too, and have had lots of growing sensations the last few days which I did not have last time either. I know I'm just looking for signs, but really hoping these are all good ones

I'm on pregnancy number 7, with two living DCs. I'm afraid you never lose the fear and anxiety of things going wrong - there's nothing I can say other than be kind to yourself and surround yourself with people you can rely on in good or bad times Flowers

Oh OP it's such an anxious time, I completely understand.

We finally got pregnant last summer after trying for 5 years and multiple rounds of ivf.

The first 12 weeks were very anxious and we went for a few private scans for reassurance.

There's a website that tells you how much the miscarriage risk drops every day and I found that really helpful. After 12 weeks the miscarriage risk is tiny.

At 18 weeks I started feeling her move, which massively helped with the anxiety. It's still not gone, but it does lessen.

I hope everything in your pregnancy goes super smoothly x

I know how you feel! Ivf pregnancy and FTM, 13+2 today and must have had 8 scans! Still worry about everything, have a horrible UTI atm giving me crampy pains today which is worrying too. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy :) x

Aww bless you. I feel like people don't always talk about this side of pregnancy it is such a worry. Just try to think of all the positive things like your positive scan and your symptoms. Wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy OP x

As reassurance once there is a heartbeat the chance of miscarriage is extremely lowered (I don't know exact stat off top of my head but it's a significant amount) X
