Choosing a private midwife

Hello. I am in the very early stages of pregnancy (first timer) and considering a private midwife for a home birth. In order to be matched up with a midwife, I’ve been asked what is important to me in a midwife. Other than being kind and patient (which I assume they all are!) and experienced in home births, I’m not really sure what to say. I wondered if anyone who has been through this already has any pointers? Thanks!

I had an independent midwife and 2 home births.
That’s a difficult question. I would say it’s important to meet them first and see if you like them, you want someone who you like and trust. I was recommended to one, spoke to her on the phone then met her. Like a mutual interview, before any commitment on either side.

Is this with 'Private midwives' the company or a group of independent midwives?
