Anterior Placenta and movement

Hi all
I was told at my 20 week scan I’ve got an anterior placenta, they said nothing to worry about and it’s fairly common but I am a bit worried about feeling the babies movement as things progress.

Is it easy to still feel the regular movements? I’m worrying it will be more difficult and I’ll struggle and be anxious all the time if I can’t feel the baby as much. I’ve not felt anything yet either.

Thanks x

Hi. I have an anterior placenta and didn’t feel any obvious baby movements until 25 weeks. It then took a couple of weeks to feel regular movements but I’ve had no problems since then feeling what I imagine people without an anterior placenta feel. Movements are regular and very strong some days. Can feel limbs poking out etc lol. I was told by my midwife by 28 weeks baby is bigger than the placenta so the placenta will not cushion movements anymore, it is more an earlier in pregnancy thing. I have still had a few quiet days where I haven’t felt baby much but I think that can be normal but if you are ever concerned call your maternity triage/unit. It is normal to not feel regular movements until 28 weeks.

Hello!

I also have an anterior placenta, im 23+4 and still not feeling anything.. I have the odd days where i think i have felt a little popping sensation but then nothing else happens and i doubt it is baby..

I was in MAU last week for something else and the midwife asked about movement; she said she wasn’t worried because of the placenta- baby has always moved loads on scans 🙂

Im super keen to feel her move but each day i know she is getting bigger and it shouldn’t be too long x

Hi! First timer here so can only speak from this current experience!... but I'm 21+3, have felt baby for about a week, but now getting much stronger... can't see my tum move yet, but can feel them from the outside occasionally 👌🏼 I think it obviously makes it harder to feel but can definitely still feel them for sure 👀 made me jump today! Haha
