Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

I'm 6 weeks today, I think I'm starting to feel a bit of nausea/ get a sour taste in my mouth on an evening... up until about 3/4pm I seem to be okay and then it hits and the bloating starts 😅 (it's another level!!)

Very quickly going off any meal I make and put in front of me to try and eat 🙈🥴

Is anyone else not a "sicky" person generally pre pregnancy? I'm never ever sick, and rarely feel sick unless I'm dehydrated so hoping that helps me in some way now 😅

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 29/12/2022 16:11

@Havanalily1806 I'm 6+2 and I have a horrid taste in my mouth too. Only really just started yesterday. My cramping is a lot less frequent now.

sally16 · 29/12/2022 16:18

Placemarking 💙

678somuchtolearn · 29/12/2022 16:22

8 weeks today and the nausea is full on!! Even water tastes revolting! 🤢 I've lost 3 pounds...
I read it usually peaks around 9 weeks, so I hope that's true 🤞🤞

ChloeN · 29/12/2022 16:24

@Havanalily1806 im not usually sicky either really, but I’ve felt sick most days since 6 weeks🤣

PumpkinEverything · 29/12/2022 16:27

Thanks for making!

hope tonight goes okay for you @ChloeN ! Maybe you’ll be able to survive on chips 😬

Amme18 · 29/12/2022 16:29

@somuchtolearnabout how sneaky of your OH to just start running businesses from Dubai, like
guess we need to move now 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 Sounds amazing and absolutely don’t blame you! Especially when you have you sister and her family there - it’s not quite so daunting moving countries when you have some familiarity there.
I’ve often wondered if raising kids elsewhere in the world would give them better opportunities, now more than ever 😳

@sally16 literally described my lunch and last nights tea 😅

Thought sickness/exhaustion was easing off a bit but last few days it’s come back 😫 I’m meeting work on Tuesday to talk about going back to work the week after and phased return etc, not sure if I should tell them or not! Feel awkward, I’ve been off 4 months, I’m back but I’ll be off again in 7 😅

BusyBushBaby · 29/12/2022 16:31

Thanks for the new thread.

I'm 8+5 now and I've been intensely nauseous since week 6 with intermittent vomiting for the last couple of weeks despite cyclizine (which I'm really not convinced is doing a lot). Hoping for some relief soon but I remember with my son not feeling much better until about 16 weeks. Yesterday was dire but today I've kept loads of food down and haven't vomited at all.

sally16 · 29/12/2022 16:35

@Amme18 sounds disgusting but I'm right into those cheapy mirco burgers 😂 they are so plain and easy to eat but DS has decided he likes burger now. And steals them out my hands 🫠😂

Amme18 · 29/12/2022 16:52

@sally16 My OH is the one who keeps stealing my “easy” foods! I kept buying things like pancakes that I can just grab in a morning and get down quick…and he keeps eating them all.

Alpacabag22 · 29/12/2022 17:13

Hi folks, wow thread 4 already! hope you're all keeping well.

I'm around 8+5 today based on my app. Nausea been pretty rough the last few weeks though the vomitting has eased a bit.

Now I'm really noticing the fatigue though - I feel totally drained of energy and almost like sleepy-drunk (though obviously not actually drunk!). Anyone else having this?

It's fine while I'm on holiday cos I can nap but already dreading trying to stay awake at work next week! 😴😴😴

ChloeN · 29/12/2022 17:36

@PumpkinEverything its only me and my partner thankfully so at least it doesn’t matter if I don’t eat anything, he’ll just have 2 meals instead🤣

Jadeelx · 29/12/2022 17:48

Wow another new thread!
My nausea has eased off (scared to say it out loud incase it hears me and comes back 🤣)
I still have it but it’s far less then last week, although my aversions are still so strong. I’m going through food phases, today and yesterday it’s pizza!!

LMM91x · 29/12/2022 17:49

@Alpacabag22 omg totally! I’ve been off now for two weeks over the christmas period and feel like things have amped up. I’m not overly nasuseous thank god - have been sick most days but just the once and generally around midday strangely when i’m about to get in the shower?🤣 not sure if there’s a physcological element of that being in the bathroom 🤣🤣but god yeah napped for two hours today after doing bery little this morning how on earth i’m going to do 3 full days in the office plus a commute i. Do not know…. (Apologies if I sound like a tit as i’m sure people have much more arduous jobs than I do) xxxx

CityKity · 29/12/2022 17:54

Thanks for making another thread! Whoever mentioned salt and vinegar Pringles is my soul sister - these are my absolute favs! I actually haven’t had much sickness but have found myself comping on gherkins and pickled onions to ward off any weird sicky feelings.
I finally had my booking apt yesterday which was lovely, the midwife was so sweet and reassuring which was really nice. It’s crazy they don’t actually test hcg levels though, I realise I’m in week 8 now and could get to the 12 week scan and there be nothing there! It’s making me a bit nervous, but just trusting that it’s all going okay.
Feeling a bit lethargic but trying to keep up with running to inject some energy into my days, todays was totally rubbish though. Telling SIL and BIL tomorrow and absolutely bricking it. They’re in the early stages of TTC and I’m so desperate/hopeful that they conceive soon so that we can do this together.

Havanalily1806 · 29/12/2022 17:58

@MinnieFirstTimeMum the taste is bearable for now... hoping it doesn't get any worse. My cramping has definitely stopped now, don't think I've had any for at least a week

@ChloeN that isn't what I wanted to hear 😂 I really don't how how I'll cope if I actually start being sick 🙈

ChloeN · 29/12/2022 18:02

@LMM91x my sickness and gagging is so much worse in the bathroom too🤣 mines at the sight of wee atm? Literally wtf, if I don’t flush the toilet quick enough and I see it I’m gagging

LMM91x · 29/12/2022 18:05

@ChloeN tottttaaallly with you there. Christ gonna need to avoid the loo at work 🤣🤣

HRSC · 29/12/2022 18:09

@MinnieFirstTimeMum replying to your comment from the last thread: you sound like you’re extremely busy at the moment! Not sure if I’d able to handle all that! - all I did today was the washing and ironing and visit my grandmother and I’m wiped out 😂

There were some others who replied to me but I can’t seem to reply to them so I am sorry for that ! But I appreciate you replying to me 😊

I seem to feel fine in the mornings but by late afternoon feel rough and then it end and flows throughout the evening. So every morning I’m filled with anxiety that I feel ‘normal’ and then by the afternoon I’m full of regret 😅 anyone else?!

LS888 · 29/12/2022 18:29

We have tried the baby name app too- not too many matches so far but all good fun!

I’m sticking to a diet of beige food too. Had a proper kids tea yesterday - chicken nuggets and chips! Hubby made the chips so it wasn’t all processed! Tonight we are having pizza. Snacks keeping me going are sausage rolls. So funny when I never eat processed foods normally but needs must. Will try to be healthier once this phase has passed- hopefully soon!

We have our early scan tomorrow and getting a bit nervous. Just keep praying everything is ok this time. Hubby wants to know when we can get excited and I keep saying once we have had the scan. So wish us luck for tomorrow 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cat1424 · 29/12/2022 18:33

Beige teas for the win at the moment. Not sure if it’s actually craving or just the pure tiredness meaning I can’t be arsed to cook but they’re doing the job 😂

Good luck for tomorrow @LS888!! Mine is on Monday and I’m already terrified!

ChloeN · 29/12/2022 18:45

@LS888 good luck for tomorrow lovely I’ll be thinking of you💕

@LMM91x omg yeah that’ll be horrendous, hold your wee all day🤣🤣

LMM91x · 29/12/2022 19:01

@ChloeN it’s that or keep my eyes closed so I don’t get a glimpse of the toilet 🤣
