Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 30/12/2022 17:44

@marleyandme I am the same as you but with Coca Cola. I just got the caffeine free ones and pop them in the freezer for 10 minutes before I open one 😂

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 30/12/2022 17:46

@LS888 aw I'm so glad your scan went well for you! 🥰

ChloeN · 30/12/2022 18:21

@Mulner88 i was absolutely fine when I was out which was great, but I was sick when I got home so total waste of money🤣 I love going for dinner too but I really don’t fancy anything at the minute!

@LS888 fab news about your scan lovely 💕

BusyBushBaby · 30/12/2022 18:31

BCxx · 30/12/2022 19:37

Scan tomorrow.. for those who have had early scans, were they internal or normal ultrasound? I got the normal ultrasound last time and would prefer that but it was quite a poor quality picture. Wondering what the chances are that I’ll need an internal one (did end up needing an internal one last time for low placenta further on anyway)!

LMM91x · 30/12/2022 19:41

@BCxx internal as they couldn’t see anything abdominally - I was 6+5 (dated 6w)

AnnieApple123 · 30/12/2022 19:44

So sorry to read this @TheBirdintheCave . I was really hoping your fears would turn out to be for nothing. Hope you can get some answers and that it happens again for you soon. xx

@BCxx internal - couldn’t get a clear enough image externally but also my bladder was bursting and I think she didn’t want to press on too hard 🤣

AnnieApple123 · 30/12/2022 19:49

Oh @Butterflies12 what a very difficult decision. I think like you I’d be tempted to try to treat it naturally if you can. Your aunt sounds a bit harsh. My DS is 2.5 now and I wouldn’t say decisions like that have been a regular occurrence.

@LMM91x i should be exactly the same date, I think I was possibly even a day less last time but because they saw the heartbeat I was fine with that

@Amme18 😂 did you go to the loo before it? I remember being so bursting last time she said she could see a heartbeat but could do internal if I wanted and I basically did a thumbs up and bolted out of the place to the toilets because I was so bursting 🙈 will try not to drink quite as much this time! There is literally nothing worse than someone pressing down on you (while pregnant especially) with a full bladder!

AnnieApple123 · 30/12/2022 19:51

@DesertSnow We might well break some records with threads at this rate. We’re getting through more than one every two weeks and seem to be storming ahead of any other due date group.

OP posts:
LMM91x · 30/12/2022 19:52

@BCxx OMG i literally had to dart to the toilet as they were running late and thought no way can I hold it. Then it was internal anyway which actually needs an empty bladder so i had to go AGAIN and even then she was like erm you’re bladder is still full…. HOW i do not know, but yeah the bladder holding is the worst part 100%

BCxx · 30/12/2022 19:57

@LMM91x I think when you’ve drank a lot and you empty your bladder there’s more there ready to just fill it back up instantly because I was bursting before my 20 week one before and sneakily went before it but she commented on how full my bladder was 🤷🏼‍♀️ They surely have had people pee themselves before 😂

Amme18 · 30/12/2022 19:59

@BCxx yeah she let me go for a wee - think I would have been one of the women weeing on her on the internal if she hadn’t 😅

Sjw30 · 30/12/2022 19:59

Internal, I was measuring at 6+2 but LMP was 6+5. I knew I had a tilted uterus from fertility investigations so was worried it would potentially be difficult to see something so early, although the sonographer didn’t mention this at the time. She said my bladder wasn’t full enough, it was my first ever scan so I didn’t know how much to drink but it was like 😳 I’m about to burst!! 😅.

PumpkinEverything · 30/12/2022 20:01

@TheBirdintheCave so sorry to hear that after your long wait between scans too. Hope you get your rainbow soon ♥️

PumpkinEverything · 30/12/2022 20:03

@BCxx with my daughter I had an internal at 7 weeks (private) and 9 weeks (EPU). This time I went at 8 weeks to a different private clinic and they did abdominal! my 9 week one was such a clear scan, but the 8 week one I had recently was surprisingly still pretty clear! How far along are you?

BCxx · 30/12/2022 20:32

@PumpkinEverything i’ll only be 6 weeks 5 days tomorrow, I don’t really know what a ‘clear’ early scan looks like but I was just delighted at seeing a heartbeat last time so didn’t really care about the picture so much. I was on another level of full bladder though, not sure I can put myself through that again 🙈

BCxx · 30/12/2022 20:35

@Sjw30 haha this seems to be most people’s problem 😂 I’ve never been as desperate for the toilet as I was that night. We got there early and it was in a dark side street. I made my husband get out the car with me and just walk up and down because I thought if I just sit in the car thinking about it I’ll 100% wet myself 🙈 seems most people have been internal though so I’ll probably just go with the idea that’s what I’m having
