Here’s a new thread for the upcoming new year.

I think we’ve got all due dates covered now but newbies are still of course most welcome. We’re a friendly, chatty bunch so do feel free to join in.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
BCxx · 30/12/2022 20:36

@Amme18 haha that could be me tomorrow 😂 going to be so anxious before it but have a lunch with my friend’s to get through first.. will have to sit and chat about random stuff like in my head I’m not screaming ‘I’M PREGNANT AND MY SCAN IS IN AN HOUR!!’ 🙈

Sjw30 · 30/12/2022 20:42

@BCxx I guess if you prepare for it, it’s less of a surprise 🤣. Best of luck for tomorrow. I will say though, I do think we got a very clear picture from the internal scan! Though we were more just looking at some reassurance than anything 🥰

ChloeN · 30/12/2022 20:50

@BCxx sorry if you said but where you going for your scan? At window to the womb they do internal for all under 10 weeks I think it is! Whereas place I’m going this time tries abdominal from 6 weeks

somuchtolearnabout · 30/12/2022 20:55

I went at 7+2 and they did internal, but with my previous two pregnancies they were both at 7 weeks and abdominal. So def depends on the clinic @BCxx

Nic2908 · 30/12/2022 21:45

I’ve had both internal and external, both at the same stage. I have to say the internal was far superior and clearer in terms of imaging at 7+2 v the abdominal one.

BCxx · 30/12/2022 22:06

@ChloeN aw do they, it’s just a lady who has her own scanning place so not a big company but it just says optional transvaginal scanning for early scans. I went to abc4d last time and they tried ultrasound then offered abdominal but we’d been able to see pretty much everything already so said I was happy with just the abdominal one

MinnieFirstTimeMum · 30/12/2022 22:07

@BCxx I had mine today I am 6+3 they tried abdominal first but could only see the sack and yolk so then they did internal. They let me go for a week inbetween the two. Good luck for tomorrow!

I meant 'wee' in between 😂

BCxx · 30/12/2022 23:17

@MinnieFirstTimeMum oh good! That’s crazy there can be such a difference between the two, I’m going prepared that it’s probably internal then

Rowanandremy · 30/12/2022 23:27

@AnnieApple123 Thank you for the new thread, I can’t believe we are on the 4th one already! Struggling to keep up 😂

welcome and congratulations to everyone new!

I am really starting to miss swimming now, I’m just so tired in the mornings that I’m not sure driving would be a good idea. I’ve also gone off milk, if I see it or smell it I heave, if I’m unfortunate enough to drink it I feel terrible and about 20 mins later I vomit quite violently. Never had a problem with it before but I’m slowly getting used to one cup of black coffee a day. The anti sickness bands are the only things that have helped me.

The only thing I hate about scans (other than the anxiety) is having to have a full bladder. I always feel like I’m going to pee myself, my early scan with dd the sonographer was late and I was cursing and nearly crying I was in so much discomfort - never walked so fast to the toilet in my life, people actually got out of my way so I either looked intimidating or my desperation was clear to see 🤣

BCxx · 31/12/2022 00:20

@Rowanandremy this was totally me too 😂 it stands out as the number one most bursting time I’ve ever ever experienced! I think when you’re pregnant you’re already a bit wary that you’re not really fully in control of everything anyway so you’re just having to pray you don’t wee yourself!

BCxx · 31/12/2022 00:23

Also Stacey Solomon is pregnant and due next month. She said she didn’t find out until really really late. I’m just sat here at 6 weeks, having already been sick and feeling very sick like how on earth does that happen?! How can you just not know?! Surely the no periods thing is a giveaway if nothing else?

Rowanandremy · 31/12/2022 00:26

@BCxx I think you’re absolutely right there, I was already struggling with nausea and a hyper sensitive sense of smell and worried that something would set me off heaving. I think I was actually muttering pleas for the toilet to be free when I got there - no idea what I’d have done if it hadn’t have been 🤣

Luckily with this baby I knew it would be an internal with the fertility clinic - not that it stopped me going to the toilet 3 times! And that was after sipping at water that amounted to a quarter of the bottle 😂

UsernameNotPresent · 31/12/2022 05:20

I managed to catch a stinking head cold from my toddler 🤧🤒🤕 why, just why.

somuchtolearnabout · 31/12/2022 07:40

I THOUGHT THAT @BCxx but then I realised she obviously fell pregnant when rose was like 4 months old or something? So she was presumably still breastfeeding? I didn't get my period at all until I stopped breastfeeding completely and maybe she just assumed she was knackered because she had a new baby. She's a braaaaave woman to have such a small gap 😂😂

VickiGo · 31/12/2022 07:53

Does anyone else's boob pain really flare up at night?! I don't have big boobs in any way, but for the last few nights I've woken up whilst rolling over and it's almost as if I have to carry them over 😂

BusyBushBaby · 31/12/2022 08:02

Morning all. My nausea and food aversions have really improved the last couple of days. I've been able to drink things other than water! Obviously this has set me to worrying though. Boobs are still big and sore. Next scan is 5 days away. I'm weeks today.

Has anyone else noticed their symptoms lessened around this point and had it turn out ok? Maybe I've lost twin 2 but hopefully twin 1 is still ok?

PumpkinEverything · 31/12/2022 08:03

I was going to say the same @BCxx i think she was/is breastfeeding so probably no period yet! And if she had no nausea or sickness then I totally think you can write off symptoms sometimes as being something else 😂 with my daughter I felt I really understood how people went months without knowing as I just didn’t really feel pregnant 🙈

PumpkinEverything · 31/12/2022 08:07

How many weeks are you @BusyBushBaby ? I’m just over 9 and feel like my symptoms have eased too. I haven’t felt as nauseous since maybe 4/5 days ago, and my boobs don’t really feel sore anymore either. Also at this moment in time not feeling any strong aversions 😂 who knows if that’ll change tho! I’m feeling more like I really want some guacamole, and also some buffalo cauliflower wings. I couldn’t stop thinking about them last night when I was trying to sleep 🙈

BusyBushBaby · 31/12/2022 08:32

Sorry there's a missing digit in my last post, I'm 9 weeks today.

I was so so sick on Wednesday but since then much improved, still nauseous on and off but not nearly so bad.

somuchtolearnabout · 31/12/2022 08:36

@BusyBushBaby For me, as a blanket rule, symptoms / lack of symptoms mean absolutely nothing. With my first 2 pregnancies, had I not taken a pregnancy test I could very very easily have gotten to 20+ weeks having absolutely no idea I was pregnant. This time I've had minor symptoms on and off (food aversions and incredibly heightened sense of smell) but I'm only 8+4 and I've not had those for a while. They don't really mean anything as far as I'm concerned, just count yourself lucky that you're starting to feel better!

somuchtolearnabout · 31/12/2022 08:39

I'm so pissed off. Had the gender blood test last week, got an email in the middle of the night last night with my "results" - DH & I sat downstairs with the kids and got all excited to open it (we were gonna be super lame and make the 3yo open it and tell us what colour it was) and he opened it and said there's no colour mummy.

Eh?

INCONCLUSIVE RESULTS 😭😭😭 so I've gotta get my arse back to the clinic for them to take more bloods and send them back off. Another agonising wait. But it did make me realise something I didn't realise before, I think I'd really like a girl this time 🙈

PumpkinEverything · 31/12/2022 09:04

Ugh that’s so annoying @somuchtolearnabout ! I hope they send them off with a faster response time since that happened.

have you any feeling as to what you’re having at all?

LMM91x · 31/12/2022 09:08

@somuchtolearnabout omg no way!!! 🤣 bastards what a pain!

blondebanana · 31/12/2022 09:15
