Hi everyone

I have a history of miscarriage, I’m 11 weeks pregnant and currently taking cyclogest and aspirin. I had my third reassurance scan this morning and everything perfect with baby Im measuring bang on 11+3 with a perfect heartbeat. All great yeah. Then she pointed out a 2cm “small bleed site” to the left of the baby, Ive attached scan pic so you can see. She said its nothing to worry about and ill either bleed or it will be reabsorbed. Obviously due to my history I’m absolutely panicking its all going to go wrong again, I’m not bleeding at the moment but do have a constant shooting pain in my left hand side. Does anyone have experience of this and everything turn out okay? Or did it turn into anything sinister? Could this be causes by aspirin? This is my first time using it.

I feel like I cant be happy its so frustrating I was so happy to see baby and then to get slapped with that has just made me worry all over again.

So sorry for your history of miscarriage. It really is the cruelest thing. The pool of blood next to the baby is called a subchorionic hematoma/haemorrhage. They're very common. I had one as well in early pregnancy and I bled LOADS between 4 and 8 weeks. Literally had to go into hospital at a weekly basis to see if the baby was ok as I had lost to much blood, had cramps etc. I also had a previous loss so I was mega freaked out by it all. At my 12 week scan the hematoma had nearly resolved and I'm now 16 weeks, no further bleeding. If the sonographer said that it's nothing to worry about, I would trust that statement for now. As far as I know a hematoma can become worrisome if it is a certain size but if your sonographer said it might be reabsorbed, that's reassuring. I know it's so hard but try not to worry. If you have a bleed, get yourself to your local EPU to be checked out. Wishing you a healthy rest of your pregnancy!

Oh and just to add, I also had shooting pains in my left hand side. It was a cyst on my ovary that has now resolved as well. And I've been taking aspirin since 13 weeks for low PAPP-A but haven't had any bleeding since 8 weeks. I also queries whether I should take aspirin due to the bleeding I'd had and my midwife said that it's even more of a reason to take it.
If you have any concerns or questions about it though, do call your midwife for reassurance.
