Hi everyone never done this before but fel t it maybe beneficial to chat...

I'm 33 and 14 weeks pregnant and at my 12 week scan I had the usual blood test after my results came back it said i am 1:123 as higher risk for down syndrome had another blood test on my Monday which was the nipt test but due to postal strikes it hasn't made the lab yet which blood can only be tested in a 14 day period so its been 5 days already and the midwife said there's a chance I will have to have the test again waiting over christmas is bad enough but waiting another week or more for a result is agonising. The worry I have not knowing I don't know what to do with myself.
Please feel free to let me know ypur experiences from nipt results 😌

Hello,
this is my first post too! I am in a very similar situation to you in being given results of 1:150 after my combined test/scan last week and had a NIPT test on Wednesday and now waiting over Christmas. I’m 14 weeks pregnant and finding it so stressful waiting and worrying.
Hope you hear something next week.

It's definitely a struggle I suffer with depression and anxiety aswell and im very impatient lol so everything is heightened... all you want to know is that baby is healthy.

Well fingers crossed 🤞 for your result atleast I'm not the only one not that wish the worry on anyone but it's very lonely 😞

I just had an NIPT test, it took 9 days to get to the lab due to the postal strikes but once they received it, although their lead time was much longer they processed it and sent the results within 4 days. So hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

SarahRus · 23/12/2022 17:39

Good to hear that you got your result in good time regardless of postal issues @lemonybiscuits . Hope you got the result you were looking for.

I am with you in being impatient @Laurenbec and it has triggered my anxiety so much. I does feel lonely. My husband is so positive about it all, turning it into a % is much less scary than the 1:xxx numbers given.

at least with Christmas and the bank holidays no need to wait for by the phone until Wednesday at the earliest!

Laurenbec · 23/12/2022 17:41

Ahh well that's a little hopeful the midwife she will update on Wednesday with whether they made it to the lab or not.

I guess that the positive we have is over Xmas not constantly looking at the phone waiting for a result hopefully we can enjoy the day as much as possible my boyfriend is the same is say my baby is healthy until I'm told otherwise xx

Just wanted to say that I’ve been thinking of everyone waiting for results this Christmas and hopefully by the end of the week we will have some answers 🤞🏻

Hey,
I am 13 weeks and I had NIPT yesterday and just can’t stop worrying. I was called to say my risk of DS from the initial screening was 1/9. Sounds so high.
Midwife tells me my bloods are ok, BHCG 1.01 and PAPP-A 1.14. But what puts me at high risk is NT of 3.3mm and my age 35, will be nearly 36 at due date. I’m first pregnancy had none of this so it’s quite a shock. Did anyone else have similar results to my mine at all? The 2 weeks wait is just so hard, I can’t stop thinking about it x

Laurenbec · 05/01/2023 14:38

Oh bless you I read through a lot of stories like screening results like yours (e.g results being 1/5) and all is fine.

Try not to worry I know it's really really hard xx
