Electric fence shock while pregnant?!

Hi, I just wondered if anyone could put my mind at ease.

I am 27 weeks pregnant and was shocked by an electric fence, I only felt a buzz in my hand... it was not painful it just made me jump! I am just worried if this could affect baby?
This also happened a few weeks ago but I am worrying more this time for some reason.

(I regularly handle horses which is why I keep meeting said electric fence 😂)

Thank you in advance, any advice or experiences would be much appreciated x

Oh gosh that reminded me of something that happened to me when I was pregnant! I got a shock from an electric cable that was supplying electricity to my house while it was being rewired. It was actually quite nasty and apparently could have been worse and I was lucky. No harm to baby whatsoever- she is a grown up with a baby of her own now.

I'm sure you and baby are fine OP. And congratulations. Flowers

Oh gosh how awful for you, thank god everything was okay!! Thank you so much though, I'm sure the electric fence was pretty mild in comparison to your shock! Thank you for answering 🙂

Electric fence is fine. The current is far too low to be a problem so I wouldn't worry. I would however be really careful with the horses though due to physical accidents or any medicines/chemicals present on the farm.

Honestly don't worry it will be fine. Its similar to a tens machine...

Well I absolutely detest the sensation of being zapped so I sympathize OP, but I'm sure your baby will be fine. Electric fences are designed to discourage nosey animals, not to kill them. Imagine if the current caused miscarriages in every pregnant sheep that got too close! I just don't think they do.

Thank you all 🙂

This happened me with my DD, i got a shock on my tummy so was freaked out but all was fine. She is a fine healthy 12 year old now so no ill effects!
Best of luck with your pregnancy.

Don’t worry I did the same at 30wks as I forgot if you push one of our metal gates back too far it connects with the leccy fencing 🤦🏽‍♀️ I’ve had growth scans since and all has been absolutely fine.
