Hi All
Just wondering if you can help me because my current Dr sent me for a 13 week scan (confirmed pregnancy, the tech sono was not usually able to comment to concentrate then the tech receives the image, then Dr reports on the outcome.

So, the process I have confirmed with the Company I've been getting scans from. The GP then told me the Techs at the imaging place do the report so we are all scratching our heads.
Im left questioning the process now.
About Me

  • I'm now showing a promiment nice bump at 20 to 22 weeks.
  • All my pathology is great.
  • Have a retroverted uterus which may now be in position
  • A very strong history of multiples 2's and 3's in my maternal family, my Nan had 2 sets of twins of 9 children.
  • Am only guessing dates from June/July, LMP last week June & absintent SINCE July 28th.
  • Strong exaggerated pregnancy symptoms (off the charts HCg levels)
  • Had a pregnancy in Jan this yr resulting in a loss in March so I know pregnancy symptoms.

My question is
can anyone make out what is in this image, is it a potty shot, maybe multiples or can make of what this is as something is growing 🤔.

Someone suggested potty shot & outlined but what is the rest. My eyes are starting
to cross I enhanced the image, also have FHR averages 141 ish, strong whoosing placental sounds via doppler device.
Something is definitely growing but I cannot get a EDD as bub was sitting so far curled up behind. I can't get a 2nd opinion until 3 weeks to a specialist & don't want to be missing out on ante natal care especially this far due to my loss this year.
Everyone says get a 2nd opinion but I'm in waiting line like others to see a specialist not a private patient.
The scan indicates bones or a femur would anyone agree and we have rules out endometrium only.
This is absolutely crazy. I want to enjoy this journey now my severe morning sickness has eased & afraid I will end up in denial resulting in Post Natal Depression. I just am open for ideas or another set of eyes
please🙏

Attached are the scans taken on my dates being 13 weeks however could be further along TAKEN Mid November

Very much appreciated Xx

I'm not sure if it's just me but I am honestly finding this very hard to follow. You are 23 weeks now, yes? You have never seen an image of your baby, no one has found an image of your baby on a scan?

Your way of writing is quite confusing. I hope all goes well for you but this all seems really strange, and I can't imagine Australia's healthcare system is so different that people routinely get to 23 weeks without a baby ever being seen on a scan.

MrNook · 09/12/2022 08:39

There's no baby in those pictures of your uterus

FlamingoBabe · 09/12/2022 08:53

OP either you need to have a chat with your doctor and get them to sit and talk through the scan photos or you need to see another doctor at a different clinic. I’d suggest the latter as you should never walk out of an appointment feeling confused and then not able to have an immediate follow up. See another doctor asap x

Room4onemore · 09/12/2022 09:10

I don’t understand how you can get to 23 weeks and have a scan photo of a clear baby? I would see someone else asap

ladydimitrescu · 09/12/2022 10:09

It's really concerning you can't see a baby - at 23 weeks there is no way you wouldn't be able to see some form of foetus on the scans, and in those photos your uterus is empty. I think you need to see someone else asap

Something isn't right here.
I had a retroverted uterus until 20+ weeks and my baby was clear on all scans, abdo and vaginal, but with an empty bladder.

Have you had any screening like quad or nipt?
Have you seen a midwife? Has anyone listened to babys heartbeat?

Texasholdem20 · 09/12/2022 10:57

OP - I really think you need to speak to your GP and have a confirmation in writing that you are pregnant. I have a very tipped uterus and have had multiple scan this pregnancy and from 8 weeks onwards, my uterus and baby (very recognisable) was visible immediately with a full bladder on a trans abdominal scan. I am only 12 weeks now and my scans clearly show a baby (as in facial features, hands, feet etc). There is nothing visible on your scan and it sounds like at the very least you are very confused and need some help from medical practitioners.

i think you mentions somewhere that you were in AUS? Presumably Australia? Then you should have had a scan at 11-13 weeks where combined screening would have been done (what were your results?) and then another scan around 20 weeks for anomalies. These are the very minimal scans and would have been carried out by qualified providers who would have given you details such as (i) how many babies (ii) gestational age (iii) due date (iv) fetal health/wellbeing (v) any anomalies/complications. You do not appear to have any of this information and that is very odd?
please call your doctor.

FTM

I have a tilted uterus as well (I didn’t know this and had IVF treatment and they never mentioned this during the treatment) anyway had my first scan at 7 weeks at IVF clinic where they saw baby and heard heartbeat and then week 13 NHS scan where they told me for the first time that I have a tilted uterus, baby was very clear on the scan. I had several scans during my pregnancy and on all the scans baby was very clear so this post is very confusing. Sorry

Hugasauras · 09/12/2022 13:44

OP, you say your HcG was 'off the charts'. Has anyone suggested a molar pregnancy to you? Have you ever actually seen a baby, had a sonographer point out your baby on an ultrasound, had them measure and confirm your dates? I'm really struggling to follow what's going on here as by 20 weeks your baby will be extremely visible on scans and you will be starting to feel movement.

This may be a bit blunt, but has anyone actually told you or shown you that you have a living baby in your uterus?

CatMad22 · 09/12/2022 15:42

I have a retroverted uterus but my baby was still visible at 12 weeks - head, legs, arms and moving around. Something isn't right here.

csecdec · 09/12/2022 15:49

i work in sonography and cannot make out a baby in any of these images? very confusing

tiredpuppymum · 09/12/2022 15:58

Those images do not show a fetus.
