Shooting pains in private area

I'm 17 weeks pregnant (first pregnancy) for a couple of weeks I've been getting shooting/stabbing pains in my private area, also I'm not sure if this is related but I am also getting shooting pains in my lower back, you know the 2 bones at your right at the bottom of your back above the butt that feel round/ball shaped, that's where I get the shooting pain that radiats into my hip socket, I'm not sure if it's related to the shooting pains I get in my private area, that mainly strikes at night and just keeps coming again and again when I'm trying to sleep these shooting pains keep happening, the pain in my lower back also strikes at night/evening times, I also get the shooting pains in the day too but not as much as I do at night, in the day I get pains here and there in my private area, but at night it lasts maybe an hour before I can fall asleep its not a constant pain, it sort of shoots and then goes away a few seconds it comes again then goes away and that keeps happening till I fall asleep, the lower back pain however comes whenever I try to move, like lift my leg or turn over its very sharp and sometimes excruciating, sorry for this being so lengthy I just tried to describe it in as much detail as possible I've mentioned it a few times whenever I've got for appointments but they say it's normal that pregnancy hormones is making everything looser so it's normal to get pain :( also I try not to lay on My back because I heard it can cause miscarriage, or stillbirth but it's so hard to turn over onto my side because when I lay on my side I feel a very painful pressure feeling in my lower back I just thought I'd mention that to, hopefully you ladies can give me some advice ps I am waiting on a phone call from the Dr today so i will mention it to them also

I started suffering with pelvic and girdle pain from around 16 weeks, its horrific and painful. basically the separating of your pelvis , im 32 weeks and still have it.

Feels like a heavy weight on your hips and pelvis, hard to open your legs wide as well. Google lightning crotch as well.

Its very common but defo let your doctor know, I am currently signed of from work as i could barely walk for months.

could be pelvic girdle pain - mine was awful but really eased by seeing an osteopath and regular yoga. Are you sleeping with a pillow between your legs? That helps to stabilise the pelvis. You also don’t need to worry about not being on your back until third trimester as it’s to do with pressure from the weight of your bump impacting blood flow. At 17 weeks your bump isn’t big enough to be an issue.

Pelvic ligament pain - people talk about fanny daggers and arse javelin, this is what they mean!

@EcoLife @Jusmakingit I have spoken to Dr they need a urine sample to rule out infection and if it isn't caused by infection then they will refer me to physio so fingers crossed something helps xx

Sounds about right. They did that with me but it was pretty clear it was not a infection as my pelvis literally was grinding , it’s horrible :( this is my second preg as well and my first I had none of this

OMG I remember these when I was pregnant- I'd be walking along and then suddenly a shooting pain 'up my Jaxxie' I'd say - used to make me hop/jump!
