Fetus not the right size for dates

I should be around 8 weeks pregnant but had a scan done and measuring only 6 with a slow heartbeat, my dates can't be too far wrong due to getting my positives 6 days early. Has anyone had this happen and the pregnancy/baby be okay? Or does it mean its most likely not going to end well? Many thanks.

If you are sure about your dates, unfortunately both slowed heartbeat and measuring significantly behind (both in size and development) are predictors of miscarriage. I hope this is not the case for you but sadly it is a definite possibility. I assume they have offered a follow up scan?

Hey unfortunately when I went to the next scan the heartbeat had stopped and the baby had shrunk 😞 . So ended up having a surgical removal. Though I am pregnant again 12 weeks and everything is going perfectly this time 😀
