Hello,
I was wondering anyone else has had Covid while late into their pregnany? I went into A&E yesterday as I had a really high heart rate and my temperature was 40. I tested positive for Covid. I had my first jab a year ago and the second one last year.
when you google Covid and pregnany it tells you some awful things. I was just wondering what people’s experiences have been?

I wasn't nearly as late as you but I caught it at 20 weeks and felt horrendous for a few days. I was sick, temp and generally flu like

I've had 3 jabs so clearly didn't make a difference but I'm now 29 weeks and baby and I are fine

I would only worry if movements change etc or the normal stuff they tell you to worry about

feel better soon!

I have just had it at 36wks pregnant, 2nd time ive had it and have had 4 jabs. It was all ok, like a heavy cold, midwife said no issues as long as not running a significant fever and baby still moving.

Were you offered booster jabs before 3rd trimester as that seems to be standard?

I took paracetamol regularly, loads of fluids, loads of rest and was ok after a week... I think the biggest risk in 3rd trimester is completely unvaccinated women but speak to midwife if youre worried ❤️❤️

Hi, so I’m now 36 weeks 3 days & I had covid at 31-32 weeks.
I was fairly ill with it for 4/5 days like a really really bad flu- I did go in for monitoring once as baby’s movements changed a little bit & I wasn’t struggling to breathe but they were a little deeper if that makes sense( I am very overweight anyways) but baby was all good & so was I.

Try not to google as I done that & think it just freaked me out more as you only see horror stories.
I had a already booked growth scan at 32 weeks & baby was all fine & I’ve been fine since apart from a lingering cough.
i had my flu & whooping cough jabs while at my 32 week scan & all fine still after them as well.
Hope this helps slightly

I had it at 37+5. I had some gastro symptoms and lost my sense of smell. Other than that I was completely fine.

I was triple jabbed

I had it at about 25 weeks, it was absolutely fine, just had to take paracetamol and rest a lot. Just let your midwife/hospital know if you are worried about movements etc. Hope you feel better soon :)

The first few days I was very worried because I didn’t know how sick I would get and what it would do to the pregnancy.

I’m 5 days in and starting to feel better. It has been like a bad cold. But, I have had 4 vaccines, the most recent one being the new bivariant version. I imagine that makes a difference to how sick I am.

I was asked to get a pulse oximeter. I send a monitoring team my heart rate and oxygen measurements every day, along with baby’s movements and covid symptoms. They have called me a few times to check how I am doing, which has been reassuring.

I also already had a 32 week scan booked in, but if I didn’t then I would book a private scan to check on baby and the placenta.

I caught it right at the end of my pregnancy, at which point I was very overdue. I had covid for labour and was testing positive for an about a week after our baby was born. Both she and I were fine. The only symptoms I had were tiredness and tbh I don’t actually know how much of that was pregnancy / labour / newborn related, and a cough which did stick around for a long time but wasn’t that awful, I’ve had worse colds. i hope your experience is similar. Stay away from google if you can!

Thank you all for the reassurance! I’ve had a scan come through for tomorrow so fingers crossed everything looks fine, I’ve felt him move lots today and my temp is now 35.9 so much better than yesterday, I’ve just got a sore throat and a blocked nose. I’ve managed to not get Covid at all so it’s just unlucky it’s while I’m pregnant!
