Painful cramps all week

Hi all - I'm very early on (5+1) and all this week I've had sometimes quite painful cramps in my pelvic region on and off throughout the day. My pain threshold is pretty high, but it's been waking me up in the night (been awake since 4am with it this morning, for instance).

I never really got period pains pre-pregnancy so perhaps am just less used to this type of pain? Is there anything I can/should do other than ride it out? I'm not currently under any maternity services - can only book on after 6 weeks. When it first came on at the start of the week I feared the worst but no signs of any blood for now. Thank you!

Was just celebrating a cramp free night of sleep (after a bad day of them) and now they're back with a vengeance!

Really hoping this is normal (and will stop at some point). Would be great to be able to talk to someone in real life - it's difficult as right now I feel like it would be so helpful to talk to friends who have been pregnant before, but it's just not really right to put that on them until later.

I had cramps for the first couple of weeks and I’m at 36 weeks now so all was fine. I think it can just be normal stretching. Unfortunately you’re in that time period where there’s no way to know or affect the outcome - you just have to hold tight and hope for the best. Try to distract yourself as much as possible.
I really hope it goes well for you x

Thank you, @Krakinou - I really appreciate that. It's true - as with all of these things, it will either be something or nothing but you can't change it in the meantime. Wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy 💐
