Cryptic pregnancy?

A bit of background; I've been pregnant twice, the first time was 6 weeks until I miscarried, the second was 13 weeks, twins, but I lost them.
So I have some experience with pregnancy symptoms.

I'm not on any contraception because I've had a bad experience with it in the past, me and my boyfriend have used the 'pull out method' for 4 years (I know it's not really a method!)

My period has always been regular and consistent; the first day there's no pain, little blood, then the next day it gets very heavy and I can't physically do anything, then it slowly gets better for the next few days.

Since around July it's been irregular, the first month it was over 2 weeks late, the next months it's been over a week late and there's been no signs before hand of it arriving. There's been no cramps, or clots. The first day is light, and then the next day is pretty heavy, then the next day it's more like spotting.
(you can get monthly bleeding during pregnancy, I know quite a few people who had that during their pregnancies, so having a 'period' can be normal)

In July I had a lot of early pregnancy symptoms, like nausea, dizziness, lack of appetite, ect. So I took a test, but it came back negative so I just brushed it off. The symptoms carried on and changed throughout the months.

After the negative test I didn't think it could be a pregnancy until this month (I would be 20 weeks now if I am pregnant), my stomach has started to grow a little, at first I thought I was just bloated, but it hasn't gone down like it usually does.

I've also felt something like slow bubbles in my lower stomach which feels like how people describe quickening.

I've also been getting light cramps, which has never happened to me when I'm not on my period!

I've been getting other mild symptoms like lower back pain, constipation, I've been SO hungry, I'm exhausted all the time and then have trouble sleeping. I've had lots more but listing them probably won't help!

I've done about 10 tests now, but I've read that you can get a negative pregnancy test if the hcg in your body is too low to detect it on a test, or if its too high and causes a hook effect, so that's really no help right now!

I called my gp and told her all of this and her advice was to "wait it out"..

I've heard stories of people who didn't know they were pregnant and one day just gave birth, so waiting it out doesn't sound like the best advice!

In the 3 years I have been with her she hasn't ever given me an in person appointment and has always brushed me off, so going back to her isn't really an option.

I'm not sure what to do from here, I want an ultrasound just to see if I'm actually pregnant or if it's something else more dangerous, but I have no clue where I could get one.
Any advice as to what to do will be amazing!

(I'm also new to this site so I'm sorry if I've said anything wrong!)

Hey, sorry I haven't responded for a while!

The update;
last night my sister noticed that my belly has grown a lot! I didn't think I was pregnant, and that it's all in my mind, until she said that. I also noticed my hands and feet are a little swollen, and I'm standing differently, like I need to spread my feet apart to balance myself.

I've attached pictures of my belly, I'm usually size 6 - 8, with a very flat stomach because I struggle to gain weight.

I tried going to the doctors but they won't help me until I get a positive test, so all I have to go off is my symptoms and my growing belly! I think I feel movement but it could be gas (I'm not gassy anymore though) I don't even know!
Please tell me if you think its all in my mind

Honestly op you are being a bit ridiculous just tell a private scan place you have a postive test but are unsure how many weeks you are. They don't ask to see proof. However it's unlikely to be pregnancy I would be going to the doctors urgently as it sounds more like a serious health issue.

PointyMcguire · 26/12/2022 15:24

I’d tend to agree with @NewNovember It seems highly unlikely you’re pregnant based on what you’ve said, but the only way you’ll know for sure is by getting a scan. It seems madness that you’d just blindly wait it out if you genuinely think there’s a chance you might be 20+ weeks pregnant.

hellosunshineagainxxx · 26/12/2022 15:30

You need a drs appointment and blood tests, I doubt you're pregnant but your cramping and bloating could be a sign of something else

GoT1904 · 26/12/2022 15:44

Any update OP?

GoT1904 · 26/12/2022 15:45

Sorry, I've just seen the update lol.

Ring your doctors and say you want a blood test and explain your symptoms

CorporateBull · 26/12/2022 15:50

You really need to see someone because even if you’re not pregnant, you could do with having this checked out with the bloating and discomfort you’re having:

K37529 · 26/12/2022 19:31

Just read about the hook effect, if you dilute your urine with equal amount of water it stops the hook effect and if pregnant you should get a positive result, have you tried doing this?and surely if your not pregnant these symptoms could be an indicator of something else that may need medical treatment, I don't understand why your doctor said wait and see, wait and see what if you give birth or not? Call them back tell them you are still having the same symptoms but still getting negative pregnancy tests and you need to be seen by the doctor to find what is going on. Hope you get this sorted op good luck

MrNook · 26/12/2022 20:44

Just book a private scan? Don't tell them you're not sure wether you're pregnant. They don't ask you to provide a test.

What is your plan otherwise? Wait until you give birth to see?

monsteramunch · 26/12/2022 20:47

OP why don't you just book a private scan? Say you have had a positive pregnancy test if needs be. Then you'll know definitively.

girlss4 · 27/12/2022 00:08

I think you need to go back to the Drs for proper investigation as it could be something sinister.

I found out I was pregnant at 20 plus weeks, thankfully had a positive test. They were really quick in getting me got a scan when I told them I didn't know how far along I was. If you get nowhere with the Dr I'd be tempted to tell maternity services you've had a positive test so that they'll get you in for dating scan asap.

hopeisathingwithfeathersx · 27/12/2022 00:21

In your position I would just go back to the GP and say that you have had a positive pregnancy test.

They will take your word for it and refer you for a scan.
