I started feeling my baby around 18 weeks due to an anterior placenta. It can be even later than this though so try not to worry. Do you know where your placenta is? I had a private scan at 16 weeks to put my mind at ease which helped and they told me where my placenta was. X

It's still so early, try not to worry. I didn't feel my daughter move until I was 21 weeks. It's totally normal not to feel them at this point

Spockrates · 29/11/2022 09:25

@hopingfor23 no I don't know where the placenta is but I do know by baby is facing my back (she at least was in my last scan) so when they scanned me all I could see was my babys back and the back of her head maybe that's why?

You're far too early don't worry! I felt movement around week 20 and it's my first :) x

Spockrates · 29/11/2022 09:27

@emma1103 it's just cos it said on Google between 16-24 weeks is when u feel them so I was so excited counting down the weeks until 16 weeks:(

With my first I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks, you've got nothing to worry about! Also they change position all the time.

LauraA31 · 29/11/2022 09:37

I’m 18+4 today and still haven’t felt anything, i do have an anterior placenta but can’t wait to feel our little girl move!
I had a phone call with my midwife yesterday and i mentioned movement and the midwife said she wouldn’t ever worry about movement before 24 weeks which put my mind at ease 🙂

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 29/11/2022 10:01

Not guaranteed before 24 weeks. Will be later on in the normal window for a first pregnancy or if you have an anterior placenta. Even when people say they feel movement at like 14wks it can easily be gas they are mistaking for "flutters"...

christmastime11 · 29/11/2022 10:01

I had an anterior placenta- I felt no movement until week 26 x

Same

babyjellyfish · 29/11/2022 11:30

I have had a posterior placenta and felt movement at around 18 weeks both times.

Blue2020 · 29/11/2022 11:34

I still don’t feel anything, I’m 17weeks. First pregnancy to reach this point.

Betsyboo87 · 29/11/2022 13:18

It’s super early. With both my pregnancies it’s been 18 weeks but they’ve both also been posterior placentas, if you have an anterior one then it will likely be later. To start it is very faint too so you may not notice unless you are sat quietly. It will happen!

Bizzyone · 29/11/2022 13:22

I was same as you counting down to 16 weeks but in the end didnt feel a single thing til 21wks and even then it wasnt regular or daily until about 25wks...

Midwife said all totally normal!!

cata09x · 29/11/2022 13:25

20 weeks here and still haven't felt anything😂 midwife said she wouldn't worry until 24 weeks so I'm not stressing currently.. just excited for when it happens😊

Spockrates · 01/12/2022 15:57

@Betsyboo87 I just checked My scan report and realised I have posterior placenta so hopefully will feel soon!

I felt my son at 17 weeks x

Squiblet · 02/12/2022 17:53

I was 22 weeks. It felt like indigestion at first ...

Laisydaisy · 02/12/2022 17:59

Also the first sensations are so tiny that it’s hard to be sure. The first time I felt my baby move it seemed to me like the faintest tickle that might be made by a tiny bubble moving up the inside of a bottle. It was only in retrospect that I was sure that it was made by my baby.

FirstTimeTryer93 · 02/12/2022 18:06

I was 21weeks+6 before I felt anything xxx

Bee16 · 02/12/2022 18:15

I'm expecting my first, have a posterior placenta but still didn't feel anything til around 23 weeks. Don't worry OP 16 weeks is still very early.

Spockrates · 03/12/2022 11:04

@Bee16 I'm so excited really can't wait to feel something my baby is very lazy tho every scan so far (3 scans) she has been very lazy!
