Hi all,

I'm 33 weeks and starting to think about what needs to go in hospital bag. Do you think the Lansinoh ultimate hospital bag essentials kit is worth buying? It's on sale for Black Friday at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

No. Very expensive and I doubt you'd need all that.

No, if I was doing it all again (please please no!) I'd take nipple shields, wine gums and some paracetamol.

BabyB2022 · 27/11/2022 20:48

I was a bit fan on Lansinoh with my daughter, but like others I think this is too expensive so personally wouldn't.
I got things for post birth recovery and ended up with a c section so never used any of it.
I do like their nipple cream, breast pads and bottles (only ones my DD would take) though so will be using all of these again this time!

Nooo just get one tube of lansinoh while your nipples get used to feeding. I'm still using the same single tube now, two years on, as lip balm.

£84 is insane

Thanks everyone!

I have had 2 children without even knowing about the first 4 items!

Athenen0ctua · 28/11/2022 07:19

I used the nipple cream and breast pads from that list

EvilRingahBitch · 28/11/2022 07:24

I used the Lansinoh, the breast pads, a handheld breast pump and breast milk bags (though the last two were used later, not in hospital). The rest seems a bit much.

Good to know! It's my first so I don't know how much is too much! But I've decided to only buy nipple cream for now because if I have an emergency C section I won't need some of it! Also want to wait till baby born before deciding which breast pump as I'll have a better understanding then.

Buy a pack of breast pads for when your milk comes in. One breast can leak when the baby is feeding from the other, or both when your baby cries.

Definitely buy a pack of breast pads in advance,
In the early stages of Bf you can end up absolutely soaking your bra and night clothes.
