Pregnant after MC - petrified!

Hi all

I had a PUL / miscarriage in January this year which was my second pregnancy. My first pregnancy was textbook and I have a wonderful 5 year old DS. Been TTC ever since my MC and now I am 5 weeks pregnant. I am absolutely terrified of losing this one. As soon as I got my positive test my local EPU had me in for bloods. At 4 weeks my HCG was 26, then 48 hours later 54, then 48 hours later 118 so it was more than doubling, they have stopped blood tests now and they have booked me in for a scan at 6 weeks. But I just can't shake the anxiety, constantly checking for blood etc. Is anyone else in the same boat? 😭

If it helps, when pregnant with my son, I told my midwife about my previous miscarriage. Her reply was “that’s yours out of the way then” which I know could come across in the wrong way, but it sort of made me re-think how I looked at miscarriage statistics and that the vast majority of women go onto half successful pregnancies after.

having said that, currently 7 weeks with DC2 and equally prettified, so I totally empathise.

I am right there with you I have had a few miscarriages this year, I am currently supposed to be 8 weeks but my local EPU has decided that they cant be arsed seeing people anymore and just send everyone to A&E for blood tests which i have refused to do as it isnt appropriate and the waits are 10+ hours. I have a scan tomorrow which is actually a gynae scan for the investigation for the recurrent miscarriages but they have said i can still go because of how bad the EPU have treated me, to see what is happening. That being said I have 3 children, I had a child, then a MMC, then 2 more children, then 3 miscarriages, so there is hope and I am pretty sure that it is another health issue that is causing this years losses. Best of Luck i had 2 after my first miscarriage and those pregnancies went well. 🤗
