I had my 12 week ultrasound at 13 weeks. Thankfully all is ok, there will be the blood tests back in 2 weeks but on reviewing picture at home the babies head looks warped/ missing a bit at the back top rather than sound. Does anyone know if this is normal on a scan, its my first pregnancy and i was expecting it to look more rounded

Hi OP my guess would be it’s just how the baby is lying. I’m sure if there was any anomaly they would’ve picked up on it and let you know in their report. I’m by no means a medical professional though this is just my view!

If there was a problem they would of picked it up, i have scans of all my grandchildren and some of them look bizarre but they have been born all healthy. Will try and put a pic of one which looks very odd lol. Bit blurry as its in a frame on my wall.

Hi everyone. I had my first scan today at 13 weeks and I wasn't able to have combined screening done due to the fact the baby was laying on tummy and was not budging! My midwife didn't really say much and I'm just wondering how this scan looks to everyone else? X

@Bexiexx i had a very similar scan with baby lying face down last week. Had to go back in yesterday, baby was lying in a much better position and you have nothing to worry about. (Second baby for me!) x

@Emg1991 I promise if anything was abnormal or of concern in the scan they would’ve said something then and there. The amniotic fluid sometimes blurrs some of the scan. I was convinced in my first pregnancy my baby had a missing foot - for 28 weeks!! Baby was born with 2 hands, 2 feet, 10 fingers and 10 toes. I’m a bit more relaxed now with baby no 2 x

Thank you both so much!!! It's such a relief to hear from other mums their experience! x
