Needing to pee but can't go?

Hi all,

I'm 9 weeks pregnant, and for a few weeks now, I keep feeling like I really need to pee, but whenever I try - nothing. It often requires repeated visits to the bathroom before I can go - walking about does seem to help sometimes. This is making me anxious as often I try to go before I leave the house and can't - but still feel like I have to go. Is this something any other ladies have experienced? This is my third pregnancy and I've never had it before. Wondering if I should speak to my doctor or whether it's just one of those things that will pass.

You may have a UTI, it would be best to be checked by GP. If you were furtner along I'd suggest leaning forward or trying different positions to wee to move baby out of the way. If you get stuck you could try weeing in the shower or bath

Could go a UTI or a blockage like a kidney stone, I had both in my last pregnancy. Speak to GP they'll probably do a urine dip test

Think you need to call midwife/GP. Could either be a UTI or (I forget the name) a condition where the uterus blocks the bladder from emptying. Not sure that can happen as early as 9bweeks but perhaps it's more likely in subsequent pregnancies. Get it checked asap though I don't think it's normal.

Could be a UTI or could just be the pressure of your growing uterus on your bladder - I had this during early pregnancy for a few weeks, constantly felt pressure like I had a UTI. It stopped around 12 ish weeks which is when the uterus starts to move higher and puts less pressure on your bladder. Pharmacies will dip a urine sample to check for infection I think.

Thanks all - that's given me the nudge I needed to call my GP - dropping off a sample with them this afternoon.

No infection apparently but they've put me on antibiotics anyway, just to be safe.

It could just be pressure from the uterus expanding - I had this and it helped to lean forward
