Currently 28 weeks pregnant and absolutely exhausted most days. Work full time and also have a 2.5 year old. DH helps out as much as he can but he works a very demanding job and is often out of the house from early in the morning until late evening.

I don't remember feeling this tired this early on in the third trimester but I really feel like it's suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks. Not looking for any tips or advice as such, but just wondered if anybody is feeling the same or has felt the same at this stage. I feel like I'm back at the first trimester tiredness!

Worried about how I'm going to manage the next 3 months!

For me 28-31 weeks was the absolute worst! I got on iron supplements and that did help

Iron supplements, naps on lunch break, early nights and help from grandparents looking after the oldest. Got me through to mat leave starting :)

I fall asleep every evening around 8:30... The last few days I've even been sitting upright on the sofa and have zero control over it. Before I know it, I've been asleep half an hour / an hour and DH just leaves me to it. I have a 2year 4month old and have been sorting out our new flat but am not working as I'm still technically on maternity with my toddler (I was planning 3 years with him) so you have my sympathy with working full time too. No advice I'm afraid. My legs and hips have also started softening so I was awake every 90 minutes last night with dead uncomfortable legs.

I'm 28+4.

I could've written this post op. 31 weeks and so, so tired and achey. My almost 3 year old has no chill. Thankfully I have some help but it doesn't feel like enough. You're not alone Flowers

I was the same, was low on a type of iron. You need a full blood count but I got told spatone and liquorice would help and they did!

Pregnancy is much harder second+ time around. Having a child to look after, plus the extreme tiredness.

Is there any way to reduce your hours, or can you bring your mat leave forward?

FebMama · 15/11/2022 15:29

Thank you all - feels reassuring to know I'm not alone.

@Kindofcrunchy I'm lucky I do get some help too from grandparents, but somehow still doesn't feel enough!

@RainbowsMoonbeams I have lots of annual leave to take from work over the next few weeks so I have spread it out and will be taking some leave before my mat leave officially begins! Counting down the days.

This isn't the first time somebody has mentioned being low in iron to me. I think I'll mention it at my midwife appointment tomorrow. Thanks all.

Feeling like I could fall asleep anywhere and everywhere at the moment!
