hiiii I’m very early in my pregnancy (4w4d) and had my tooth out on Friday. Obviously it’s very painful but I’ve been trying to not take paracetamol unless it’s unbearable.

Anyway I’ve just got myself into a right state at work panicking whether me being in actual physical pain can affect baby so I’ve come home and taken paracetamol which I’m now worrying will affect baby. PLEASE TELL ME IM NOT THE ONLY PSYCHO LIKE THIS?!?! Oh my god I need a lie down …. Wait will that hurt my baby??? 🥲🙃🥹🤯🤯

just looking for reassurance really, this is my third pregnancy and it really doesn’t get any less worrying does it!? Any replies welcome please share your worrying stories xxx

You need to calm down. If you're this anxious you need to see a GP. You'll be fine.

If it's that painful it may be that you need to go back to the dentist as there may be an infection or some other issue.

Paracetamol does not harm your baby. I had a wisdom tooth out during pregnancy and was advised by my GP to take paracetamol and then cocodamol for a day or so, which I did because it was agony. There's no point suffering with pain like that when there are safe medications you can take.

It shouldn't be painful? Go back to your dentist.

Paracetamol will be fine. Just make sure you don’t exceed the recommended dosage. Rinsing with warm salt water can be soothing and will be totally safe for baby as well. Best wishes for your pregnancy. The pain should be starting to gradually get better - if it’s getting worse go back to the dentist as they may need to treat the socket.

You poor thing. I had a tooth removed a few weeks back and apart from it feeling strange, I didn't have any pain afterwards and didn't need painkillers. The dentist did say that if there was still pain after a couple of days to go back to the dentist as it could be what's known as dry socket which is very painful and will need looking at.

Paracetamol is fine during pregnancy. Congratulations
