28 Week Growth Scan Worries

Hi All,

After a bit of reassurance after my 28 week growth scan despite doctor saying nothing to worry about atm.

First baby and he's measured 87 percentile and was predicted 94th for birth at yesterday's scan so they want me back in a month for another growth scan to monitor - I'm 5'2 and classed as obese due to BMI (size 14 clothes) and no gestation diabetes but baby's dad is 6 foot and broad build.

I also have slightly high blood pressure they want to keep an eye on with weekly monitoring but from all other health questions and blood/urine results I've been told nothing to worry about and they just want to keep an eye on things

Not sure what I want out of posting, feel a bit put out maybe as aside from first trimester morning sickness I've been lucky and had easy pregnancy so far.

TIA

I think it is quite normal to have another scan a month after the 28 week one. I have a high BMI and have a 28 week growth scan booked for next week and then another one 4 weeks later and then every 3 weeks after that.

@OrcaBlondie thanks for replying, I didn't have any further scans or appointments (aside from next routine midwife) booked before my 28 week growth scan. I now have one further growth scan booked but that's it for further growth scans atm

Try not to worry to much about the growth scans. I was consultant led and had them from 28 weeks too. At the 28 week scan my daughter was bang on the 50th percentile. Four weeks later she'd jumped to the 95th percentile (it did then come back that I had GD). She stayed at the 95th from there and I was told to expect a baby at almost 10lb. She was born by planned elective section at 39 weeks weighing 8lb6oz, so while that's quite big, it's not the almost 10lb baby I prepared for!
My consultant herself told me to take the growth scans with a pinch of salt. She said it's so, so difficult to get an accurate reading at the baby gets bigger.
