Do your boobs shrink after pregnancy?

My boobs have had an enormous growth spurt during pregnancy and I was just wondering, do they tend to shrink postpartum or am I part of the big boob club now??

I had pretty small boobs before pregnancy and I can’t lie, I’m not enjoying the big boobs! I’m in my second trimester and they’re still very sore and tender ALL the time. I also don’t think having big boobs suits my body shape. I don’t know whether I will breastfeed or not (I’m going to wait and see if I can or not as a lot of women in my family haven’t been able to), does this impact whether they go down at all?

Most women i know, their boobs have shrank and have never gone back to how they were before, they often lose their original shape and can end up looking like deflated balloons 😂

bells2810 · 25/10/2022 15:59

Deflated balloons don’t sound too bad compared to basketballs!! 😂

Afraid they shrunk after breastfeeding. Was a B on a size 8 frame, went up to a D and now probably an A. It happened so suddenly too. Hate it! And actually wish I'd been a bit more mentally prepared for it. Since it happened a lot of small chested women have said the same to me but I hadn't been that aware of it.

I have big boobs & didn't find that they grew loads and they are similar but not as good. Some of my friends with smaller chests grew 4 sizes.

BlahBlah36 · 25/10/2022 16:02

I’m quite slender and always had small boobs. Before DS I was a 32B, they got a bit bigger during pregnancy then massive after giving birth.

I didn’t breastfeed so they deflated but I luckily landed as a 30DD and they kept a nice shape!

FictionalCharacter · 25/10/2022 16:02

Mine didn’t shrink, they stayed enormous forever, which I’m not pleased about!

SpinningFloppa · 25/10/2022 16:03

Mine have stayed big they were quite small before

DappledOliveGroves · 25/10/2022 17:10

I was small-breasted before DD1 and after having her and breastfeeding they grew and remained several sizes larger.

I then had DD2. Since stopping breastfeeding DD2 they've shrunk back to how they were when I was a teenager but have deflated too so they're now small and saggy 😭. I've told DP I'd like a boob job and tummy tuck please 🤣

BeanieTeen · 25/10/2022 17:31

Mine shrunk slightly. But they were small to begin with so not a big deal - big pregnancy boobs were annoying I prefer them little and not in the way! I used to be an awkward too big for an A to small for a B and now an A fits comfortably.

KangarooKenny · 25/10/2022 17:32

Mine are bigger and floppier !

Partypoooooper · 25/10/2022 17:46

Mine were 32dd pre pregnancy then got huge breastfeeding and baby weight, after I finished feeding I went on the pill and gained a few pounds stone so they stayed large. Now off birth control and lost 3 stone and they look really sorry for themselves. 32d 😟

BabyB2022 · 25/10/2022 21:07

Mine shrunk back down once I stopped breastfeeding. They've grown now I'm pregnant again and I hate it, can't wait to have small boobs again!

emmaalouise90 · 26/10/2022 21:42

Mine deflated after having my child 7 years ago! They've gone more normal now but never how they was before 😣xx

annlee3817 · 27/10/2022 09:31

I was very small pre pregnancy, first pregnancy and breastfeeding I went up to a 34E, once I finished feeding they went back to pre pregnancy size, I looked very top heavy with them. This time I'm breastfeeding again and they've only gone up to a 34D, so I'm expecting them to go back to pre pregnancy size when I stop feeding. They do resemble empty beanbags though

Chanel05 · 27/10/2022 09:33

I was a 32C before my pregnancy with my daughter. I then went down to a 32B. I'm now 32 weeks with my second child and I've crept up to a 34E now.

raffika · 27/10/2022 09:36

God I hope so 🙈 I was already fairly gifted but I’ve gone up from a J to a K, and only 11+6!

gonutkin · 27/10/2022 09:38

Jumping on this late but mine weirdly always deflated after and within a few weeks went sort of back to how they were before. I'm having my third baby in January and my boobs are still really full, I do eat well and I'm a curvy 14 so that probably plays a part

Nottodaty · 27/10/2022 09:43

32B before pregnancy, after first (not breastfeeding) ended up around 34D eventually went back to a B cup. Second pregnancy up to a 36DD breast feed - once I stopped i ended up 34C which some 13 years later still roughly the same. I was small to start with so no deflated balloons here :) which i thought I would do with BF.

The only thing I have is now grey tinged stretch marks - I have no other stretch marks on my body except my boobs. But where I think they grew so fast at beginning of pregnancy (ohh the pain!!) I did have very red marks but now it’s 20 years since my first pregnancy they are just a grey tinge.

CristinaNov182 · 27/10/2022 09:45

For me, my sister, sil and the friends I know they just went back to exactly how they were before.

One of my mum’s cousin had really small breasts to begin with, she was really happy they became huge while pregnant and breastfeeding but after they went back to the exact same size.

I had another friend with small breasts, same happened to her, but then she managed to put some weight on (always struggled with being too skinny) and her breasts are a normal seize now.

I’d say from experience weight loss and or weight gain have a bigger chance to impact the size and shape, way less than pregnancy.

bells2810 · 27/10/2022 11:38

Thank you for sharing everyone! I was a 32C before pregnancy and not sure of my cup size currently but got measured for a wedding dress when I was about 13 weeks pregnant and my bust measurement was 36 🥴
Hoping they will shrink back from all your feedback!

Bloody hope so! I've gone from 34b/c to e and I'm only 19 weeks ffs 🤦‍♀️ I miss my old wardrobe already!

emmetgirl · 27/10/2022 11:45

Mine didn't.

TheBirdintheCave · 27/10/2022 13:06

Mine were a 32D and I'm now still a 34DD following my son's birth two years ago.

Daisychainsx · 27/10/2022 18:52

I started at 30DD and now spilling out of my 34E and I'm only 24 weeks. And a size 8. Backs broken. I'm praying they shrink back down!! 🤣

shivawn · 27/10/2022 19:14

Mine went back to normal 32D size after 8 months post partum when I stopped breastfeeding.

Breasts have always been one of my best features and I think they're just as good as before, definitely not deflated balloons. The only thing that didn't go back to normal after pregnancy was my belly button and now, 12.5 months later, I've given up on hoping it will.
