DS due at beginning of march, what sort of coat is appropriate for that time of year? Surely won't be necessary to have one of these big fleecey all in one jobbies??

I have been having same concerns about feb baby - my ds was born in aug so no worries. I have just received my bug in a rug wrap - www.babyrug.co.uk its gorgeous, I got the extreme one because it has a cover to the fleece as I have a 'thing' about touching fleece! Weird i know.

bunnyhunny is right - things with sleeves are a pain in the arse

another vote for bug in a rug - the feet stop it riding up and the hood stops it falling down, iyswim, and unlike the zoomby blanket you can get them out the carseat without unsrapping them if you want to.

DS1 was born in March and he never had a coat or a snowsuit at all.

He had a vest, sleepsuit, cardi, hat and various blankets when out. He had a fleece that went over his car seat and round him (like a swaddle thing) and he was laid doen in his pram.

Loayers were great, as if we went to the shops it was cold outside, but you could just remove a blanket or two rather than take something off him and wake him.

I loved having a baby in March - drier weaqther, lighter nights coming, great for walking.

Ooh, I love the bug-in-a-rug wraps. Will buy one for my DB.

The baby is due in July. Which size do you have? If I get the 3-6mths, then it might not do the whole winter.

bought the small one but figure i only need it to last a couple of months, when i was buying for ds1 i bought everything too big so am making up for it this time so probably ds2 will be HUGE baby and nothing will fit - ho hum

kindersurprise by the time he;s grown out of the 3-6m he'll be more amenable to a trad snowsuit with sleeves
