Pregnant BEFORE insterting Mirena?!

I know this sounds mad! This is my first post so bare with.
I had the mirena inserted 3rd October so nearly 3 weeks ago. I’ve just taken a pregnancy test because I’ve had some symptoms I also had with my first child and it’s positive. This means I was definitely pregnant before I had the coil put in. Now what?
What are the risks? Do I need to have the coil removed asap?

Yes it needs to be removed. Did they not tell you to not have any unprotected sex before it was inserted?

Yes they did but I believe I'm about 8 weeks pregnant & we didn't have unprotected sex either. We used a condom.

It's very important that you speak to your GP asap to arrange removal and consideration of a scan to rule out ectopic. There is a risk of miscarriage with removal but it is less than the risk of problems of the ius is left in. Removal is easy in early pregnancy but as the uterus grows becomes difficult, so time is of the essence.

Thank you. My concern is that I fell pregnant before having the coil put in
