CB digital says 1-2 weeks when 6 weeks pregnant

Hi ladies, I’m a bit panicking and hoping someone could shed some light. I was 6 weeks yesterday (I’m ivf so this is fairly accurate) and this morning’s CB digital came up with 1-2 weeks. I did one last week at 5+1 and said the same - 1-2 weeks, so was hoping for at least a 2-3 by now. It should really be 3+, but I’ve heard there is a massive range, but I can feel somethings wrong when it hasn’t moved from 1-2 in a week. My FRERs are clear positives, although feel like the lines haven’t really progressed much. They’re not faint, but don’t look like they’re getting darker. I’ve seen ladies getting dye stealers by this stage, even earlier. Im really worried. My scan isn’t for another 10 days. I have zero symptoms, but no spotting/bleeding so far. Please help!

Try not to panic, I don't think the clear blue tests are all that reliable, you see loads of posts on here about people who never got anything other than a 1-2 weeks and people who got 3+ at 12dpo. At 6 weeks there should be something visible on a scan so you could always book a private one if you have a reliable clinic nearby, or hcg blood tests... I'm sure your go will be sympathetic seeing as it's an IVF pregnancy!
Wishing you all the best 💫
(Also, don't torture yourself by continuing to test once you get an answer... from the number of worried posters I've seen on mumsnet it causes more worry than reassurance)

Your GP, not go*

FanTaill · 22/10/2022 11:01

I had HCG blood tests with IVF, can you ask your clinic for these? They take the first and check it’s at expected levels and then take another 48hrs later and check it’s increased as expected. We had to pay extra so if your GP or EPU will do them for free then it could be worth checking with them first. Anxiety at this time is awful, you have my sympathy!

SummerBummers · 22/10/2022 11:03

The 1-2 on clear blue means 1-2 weeks after period due, ie 5-6 weeks (so spot on)

if you think about it 1-2 weeks pregnant is preovulation so there’s no hcg to detect

@Daisychainsx thanks for you reply. I was tempted to get a private scan, but thought what if they don’t see anything this early so might as well wait for the clinic scan at 7+4. Regarding bloods, GP really didn’t care (my gp is awful! Never has been of help ever!) and said they don’t do hCG bloods in “GP land”.

@FanTaill i had bloods done at 5 weeks from the clinic which was 119. Googling this wasn’t helpful as so many sites said it needs to be over 200 at 5 weeks for it to be viable. I didn’t pay too much attention to this at that point as I thought ranges can differ a lot from person to person. I guess I won’t really know until my scan but also preparing for the worst. It’s so cruel!

@SummerBummers CB dates from conception (egg collection for ivf or ovulation for natural) so I should be 4 weeks per their count now.

It’s the increase in bloods they’re looking for really, so you’d need to get the repeat test done to see how much they’ve increased by. If you’re ok to wait u til your scan then wait, but if the anxiety gets too much then it’s an option.

Tinkerbell098 · 22/10/2022 11:28

@FanTaill for some reason they never followed up the initial test with a second, which is odd. Yes I’m tempted to ring up on Monday (they’re closed during the weekend) to request further bloods or even get my scan pushed forward a bit. The anxiety is unreal!

@FanTaill I’ve just been for a private scan and they couldn’t see anything. My suspicions were right with regards to the low CB readings. They’re referring me to the hospital as they suspect an ectopic.

Sorry to hear that OP 😞 Fingers crossed you get the care you need swiftly.

FanTaill · 23/10/2022 15:46

Sorry to hear that @Tinkerbell098. It’s such a painful thing to go through emotionally: already you’ve been on a journey with IVF and then all this time anxiously waiting. I hope the hospital look after you really well. Sending a big hug.

Daisychainsx · 23/10/2022 18:36

I'm so sorry @Tinkerbell098 😞 here for you if you need to let it out.
