Hello,

Planned c-section mamas - how long did you stay in hospital for afterwards please? I have my section in a couple of days!

Two nights. First night because I’d had the op at 12pm and while I felt absolutely fine, they said it was too soon to go home. Probably sensible. Only had to stay the second night because baby hadn’t pooped! Little bugger 😂
I felt grand after my C-section tho. Up and about by early evening, able to lift my (whopper of a) baby quite comfortably as well as getting out of bed without any problems.
Best of luck!

Four days as it was for medical reasons. Can't remember much why first time around but second she was in NICU for three days and we had to spend 24 on the normal ward before belting released.

I had my planned caesarean 12 days ago. I was discharged after 24 hours which was too soon really, as I had cannula and couldn't get to grips with breastfeeding.

24 hours after emergency section

Will really depend on how you are. First time around I was in for 4 nights but that was because they cocked up giving me pain relief on time which led to a cascade of other problems, including feeding issues.

I had my second one 12 days ago and was determined to be out ASAP this time. I was in two nights which was in all honesty the earliest I could do had got out as I had quite bad wound pain this time around which stopped me getting mobile until the morning of the 2nd day - once I was moving, I was done though.

Good luck for today @Leelee33x !

hey everyone!

Long shot but I’m really wanting an elective c section at st Mary’s Manchester, has anyone had one here? If so, how do you go about it? I’m currently 27 weeks.

❤️

Weathergirl1 · 11/09/2023 12:09

@Tlaxxx sorry no experience of Manchester and realised you're now nearer 30 weeks - you need to raise this ASAP with your midwives.

I stayed in 2 nights but only as I was struggling with bf so they kept me another night to help me work it out x
