When was your ELCS booked in for?

I'm only 24 weeks so thinking ahead a bit... when did discussions about elective c sections happen? My midwife knows this is what I want and based on my experience with DS1, midwife hasn't even tried to convince me otherwise.

Just wondering:

a) when did people start discussing this with midwife?
b) when did people actually get a confirmed date?
c) how many weeks + days were you when you had your ELCS?

Thank you all ☺️

Mine was 39 +5!
Far to late tbh

39+5

Google the NICE guidelines for ELCS - it explains the entire process including the whys

Mine was discussed at my 36 week growth scan.
I was offered a csection anytime after 39 weeks as they suggest that the babies lungs are more developed by then.
I was then offered 2 possible dates to chose from and took the latter making it 39+6 when I had my baby.

Mine was discussed from around 28 weeks but only because I had gestational diabetes with DD1, born by C-section at 38weeks.
DD1 I had way too much fluid buy around 34 weeks we decided CSection. Was born at 39 weeks 😊

Mine was 39+4. Had agreed at first appointment that I’ll have an ELCS, didn’t get my date till 38 weeks

HappyAsASandboy · 18/10/2022 09:34

38+2 (twins)

39+2

39+1

At my hospital, they try to book it for 39+something, unless it is twins.

Mine may have been slightly different to how they usually work. I was consultant led following the loss of my first baby in the third trimester, so with my second I told them around 12 weeks that I wanted an ELCS. I then got the date around 24 weeks and I was 39 weeks exactly when my daughter was born

Mine is this Thur when I’m 38+6.

lavenderfine · 18/10/2022 12:02

39 exactly it was booked for. I booked it with consultant after my 32 week growth scan due to a previous emergency section. Ended up being 37 exactly as I had pre-eclampsia

Herejustforthisone · 18/10/2022 14:09

39+1.

It was later than the doctor would have liked due to Covid issues. I’d have honestly liked him out once he was fully cooked at 37!

Thank you all for the responses! Looks like I have a while to go before any decisions are made but I appreciate you all taking the time out to reply ☺️

Bubbles021 - Which hospital was this? Mine has given me an appointment for 37 weeks just to discuss C-section which i feel will be took late to then try book a slot before I hit 40 weeks.
