Pregnant after 4 miscarriages - what to expect?

I've just found out I am pregnant again after 4 losses. It's very early (not even at missed period yet) but I want to do everything I can to give this baby the best chance.

I was seen by the RMC and all tests were normal, save for a slightly out of range blood clotting test (blood clots very slightly faster than normal) so am taking 150mg asprin at home.

I was told to get a referral to the EPU when I conceived again so they could see what they could do. My question is, what should I request and what can I expect? Does anyone have any experience of this?

I've got lots of progesterone pessaries left from previous pregnancies so will start on those, 150mg asprin, is there anything else? They also mentioned perhaps scanning me one a fortnight to check how things are going.

Would love to hear others' experience of pregnancy after RMC.

Thank you xx

I didn’t have this issue with MC but I’ve heard that folate and NAC have helped other women in your situation.there are some studies too

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18983759/

ask your doctor if this nac can help you too.

you can definitely take folate and a multi vit for pregnancy, take the natural form, folate or methyl folate (same thing), not the synthetic folic acid, bc it’s better absorbed. Pregnacare Max has this, plus fish oil, that’s what I’m taking too.

I’m also taking 150mg aspirin, for a different reason, to help the function of the placenta.

Hope it all goes well, congratulations!

Congratulations!

I was taking a pregnancy vitamin and folate and vitamin D and low dose aspirin after multiple miscarriages. I was advised to continue them.

My doctor gave me a prescription for progesterone pending a blood test but then called to say it wasn’t needed and my levels were good.

The only other thing I could have done with was anti-anxiety medicine! 😂 I can laugh about it now but I struggled to accept I was actually pregnant again until about 5 months. It was only then that it hit me that there was a good chance that the pregnancy would probably result in an actual baby!

Hi, just came across this post, I have just suffered pregnancy lost number 4 and was wondering how you were all doing ? I have just been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and just wondering what tests etc they might want to do ? If anyone can help or advise that would be great, thanks so much
