@missparis and all the other ladies over 35 whose names I can't remember! This pregnancy malarky gets harder the older I get and these symptoms are certainly different than when I had my earlier pregnancies! I hope you ladies are all feeling well! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and really feeling it on my body 😟. Due April 27th!

Awesome found it thank you ❤️

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 00:40

Oh @MissParis when're you due? Any idea?

MissParis · 15/09/2022 02:06

May ❤️ Apparently 18th may as far as the online calculator goes! I’m super excited I never thought I would have kids now. Old and decrepit at 35 haha. And it just didn’t happen for so long. And now - here my baby is!

MissParis · 15/09/2022 02:07

What about you?

MissParis · 15/09/2022 02:07

I’m happy cos it’s my birthday month and was my mums too 😍

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 02:08

@MissParis I am so happy! I'm due April 27th (my sister's birthday!) But will deliver early, unfortunately... But we're well prepared so it's okay. Baby will come out around the 6th if April!

OP posts:
MissParis · 15/09/2022 03:40

Still it’s the same month as your sister so that’s nice! I bought my first baby item today. I’m dead on 5 weeks now. Or is it 5+1? Hang on..
According to Flo I’m 5+1 just about cos it’s early hours 🥰
I got a set of teeny tiny top and pants that say dream big little one (I think!) one in white with red stripes the other the same blue stripes. So nice and neutral!
I still can’t believe it haha! According to Flo my baby looks very weird going into this 5th week haha!

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 04:03

@MissParis we aren't finding out the sex. We're getting a surprise in the OR!!! Lol. We have 4_ boys and my husband is dead set this is a girl but we all know its not 😂😂 I don't care as long as it has most of its fingers and toes... Are you going to find out!!

OP posts:
MissParis · 15/09/2022 04:11

Oh I don’t know! I didn’t think about that! I need to also remember to get my midwife, I have to self refer. I’ll do that tomorrow. When do you get the sex of the baby?

I think I would HAVE to know! I couldn’t not know I don’t think!

I also don’t think yours is gonna be a girl 😂 does he know the male sperm decides the sex when it conceives? He’s a boy maker! Haha! I only found that out recently I had no idea that the baby sex is decided on conception by the male!

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 04:12

@MissParis over there they literally call us over 35s geriatric pregnancies 🤦🤦.. Like were retirees and pensioners... 😂

OP posts:
Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 04:12

Ohhh forgot to ask, @MissParis will you be having any prenatal testing???

OP posts:
Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 04:14

@MissParis here they have started giving the blood tests at 9 weeks. Its recent because they didn't even i was pregnant five years ago. Before that my husband and I always found out at 13 weeks during ultrasounds

OP posts:
Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 04:15

@MissParis yea his track record isn't great for making girls but I am just content to be able to have my pregnancy ❤❤ he won't hear a word against it being a girl though 😂

OP posts:
MissParis · 15/09/2022 04:58

Bless him 😂😂😂😂 He wants a girl doesn’t he! I hope he gets his wish ❤️

I haven’t thought about testing. If it’s safe then definitely I will. What do they test for?

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 05:02

@MissParis genetic abnormalities and markers for how likely your baby will be born with genetic differences.. Were testing but only si we have all the info we need to give our baby the best shot should he have something

Hello all! I’m 42 (will be 43 when l give birth). 8 weeks as of yesterday. Due date technically 26/4/22 but it’s twins so will be before that

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 11:00

@EL8888 im due the 27th!! Yay! Due date buddies. I'm 35 (just). How exciting for you! Two sweet babies! I'll deliver early because of risk for rupture and a crappy liver so De. is hoping for first week of April!

Hi I’m 40 and I’m 13+6, had my 12 weeks scan and blood test for downs, glad to say my results came back today and I have 1 in 10000 chance for downs, and 100000 for the other two

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 11:22

@Room4onemore welcome! Congrats on your pregnancy. I am glad to hear you have a good test result. I honestly don't know much about the tests, never had one so this will be my first time. I'm looking forward to bombarding all you ladies with endless questions lol!

I'm 34 (35 in october) 21 weeks pregnant with DC2 and my goodness pregnancy has really hit me hard compared with DD in early 20s.

First pregnancy at this stage still running about comfortably in 5 inch heels for work, no sickness at all, 1 scan at 11 weeks, no other testing required. Now it's all very different, so much to research, terrible nausea, apparently I'm vegetarian now too 🤣 and my body is struggling with the basics daily.
That's my little rant, roll on January to meet this little man 🥰

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 12:47

@Peach0123 hi and welcome! Happy early birthday! I happen a vegetarian and had the craziest yearning for a steak... Crazy how pregnancy does that! Your food aversion should pass (hopefully lol) Lol. There is certainly ALOT to do with being pregnant later in life, and this pregnancy is definitely harder already (8 weeks) than my others were... Here's to hoping we get some smooth sailing in our second and third trimesters!

OP posts:
CristinaNov182 · 15/09/2022 13:31

I’m not a vegetarian but during my first pregnancy I couldn’t stand meat! And I was told to eat more beef bc it has lots of iron and could barely stomach eating a bit!

funny how that goes

I’m 42, 2nd pregnancy, first at 37. So far better than the first, fingers crossed.

I’ve done my combined test at 12 weeks (nuchal measurement and Papp-a and hCG for bloods), came back high risk, done the NIPT (blood assessment of genetic abnormalities, 99.99% accurate) came back low risk.

And a girl! Second for us. Lots of girls in my family.

Releasethehoundss · 15/09/2022 13:34

@CristinaNov182 congrats on your pregnancy! And I am so glad to hear you're having a healthy pregnancy and EXTRA congrats on having a sweet baby girl! We're on our way now to an ultrasound and I have my initial intake appointment next Friday at 9 weeks so will hopefully get prenatal testing scheduled then.
