Weight gain or showing early (almost 9 weeks)?

Hi ladies,

Just wondering about others experiences. Im 9 weeks tomo with my second pregnancy (my first is nearly 17 months). This pregnancy has been different in that I'm nauseous this time whereas I wasn't really the first time, so I've been eating more to fend it off. Im getting out walking every day but fir my first pregnancy I was still running until 17 weeks. I got down past my pre pregnancy weight after the birth (around 8.5 stone) so wasn't starting off heavier but anyway I definitely have a belly at this point. And its not low down its above belly button. My waist seems thicker too. Could I be showing already or is this just weight gain? I'm going to a family wedding in just under 3 weeks and we won't be telling anyone until the booking appointment at 13 weeks so I don't want to look pregnant, not that I want to look fat either lol. I don't think I've gained much in other places just around middle but I would tend to put on weight there anyway.

I just tried on a dress for the wedding and I look pregnant in it, its all flowy and then there's a big belly.

Thanks for reading this far :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I am 15+5 but started showing at 9 weeks already even though it’s my first pregnancy. Now I can only wear pregnancy jeans as nothing else fits. I guess it’s normal as each bump is different :). I am worried about the weight gain though, it’s above recommended - 4kg in 16 weeks and most of it in the second trimester. As if someone switches the plug and I have this wolvish appetite

Thanks and congratulations to you too! On my first I had a tiny bulge at 15 weeks or so and didn't have a little bump until 20 weeks. I think its just weight gain 🙈

Its hard to manage the appetite and esp with the nausea. Did you have much nausea?

I've heard that you can show a lot earlier with second babies as your muscles have already been stretched from previous pregnancy. I didn't really "show" until 20 weeks with my first pregnancy, I'm now pregnant again and expecting to show much sooner.

I'm only 4 weeks pregnant, and sitting here anxious as to when the nausea will kick in as I had an awful time with it last time! I know eat small and regular, but it was so bad I was disgusted from all foods and didn't want to eat... which of course made it worse...

Congratulations! Nausea is not fun, I'm so thankful its a good sign but I had no idea it lasted this long or was so relentless. Its making me need to eat in my case, I just had dinner because I felt unwell and I feel OK now but ill be feeling sick again at 9pm so will need to eat again:-/
