I’m currently 24 weeks pregnant but measuring much larger due to uterus issues and fibroids.

At 27 weeks I’m due at a work event which is a 3 hour drive away. We have two cars and both Im struggling to fit in comfortably due to the bump being out the front, but I don’t know how much bigger I’ll get in the next 3 weeks.

Did anyone continue driving to the end, or anyone stop early? I can’t work out if I’m being a wimp for not wanting to drive to the work thing or if it’s more practical to stop. Public transport isn’t an easy option, I’ve checked.

By about 30 weeks I wasn’t driving long distances because it made me so tired and so uncomfortable. I spoke to work about it and it was agreed as part of my risk assessment that I wouldn’t have to drive long distances. I did continue driving shorter distances until pretty much my DC arrived but driving is quite essential where we live

I drove right until the end. I’d plan in extra stops so you can stretch your legs etc. Do discuss it with your employer, every woman’s experience is different.

I had to stop at 27 weeks with twins, it wasn't uncomfortable but my car has a stupid blind spot and the bump meant I couldn't see round it

I'm due on a journey that will take and hour and a half (as long as there is no traffic) for work next week, I'm 34 weeks and honestly not feeling great about going. I think it will be uncomfortable, I'll need to stop for pee breaks and to be honest, I struggle to sit in one spot for long now and sitting in a meeting for 6 hours is going to be tough at my size. A colleague who is 22 weeks pregnant has agreed with our manager that she can join via Teams and I'm going to ask my manager if I can do the same tomorrow.
I think you have to do what you are comfortable with and if you are concerned, speak to your manager about it.

Thanks - this is helpful. My manager has asked me to go, it’s a twice yearly conference for the whole team and I work remotely the rest of the time. At the moment it would feel possible to do it, but I’m tight on space between the bump and the steering wheel so I’m consious that might have to be the deciding factor when I have to go - do I fit in the car!

Anyone would know about driving around conception ( had experience of) and is it safe in early pregnancy? Like 1 week or around implantation?
