Hi ladies,

26 weeks. Every day I have at least 20g of sugar. Not necessarily if craving it but definitely wasn’t eating like this before pregnancy. Healthy BMI. I am higher risk for gestational diabetes as my dad has diabetes.

is this too much?

example of food a day;

some mornings I have 3 slices of toast with peanut butter

fruit as a snack (2 pieces)

lunch - pasta bowl with tuna or chicken etc and veg

crisps and maybe 3 digestives

dinner - something like spag bowl (quite carby most the time)

then ALWAYS a bedtime snack around 10pm of chocolates or biscuits

worried I’m eating too bad. Anyone with me ? 😣(I’ve just eaten 3 breakaway bars before writing this)

I was like this, magnum every night, I really indulged! Then I was diagnosed with GD and it was a huge shock to the system trying to change my diet overnight, 5-6 weeks later and I am getting used to it but still really crave sugar of a night time! I don't think that craving will ever go, it's terrible !! Makes you realise how addictive the stuff is

I'm eating loads of sugar at the moment (29 weeks) and have just had my GTT - waiting for the results. Scared of getting a GD diagnosis because I would like a homebirth! Really hard to stem the cravings isn't it!
