Hey ladies,

Not sure if anyone is on here that has been to any of these hospitals- Any advice or reviews on either hospital please? I live between both and am undecided.

Thanks

I wasn’t given the option! Told I couldn’t go Colchester. So with Broomfield - wanted St Peter’s but along with the other maternity led unit nearby it’s currently closed. When I complained about by choice I was told - you have a choice Broomfield, basildon or Southend. The latter two being close to an hour an away. Pretty much all maternity units around that area have awful ratings

Not sure on ratings as I've never looked them up but I've been to Broomfield for my two pregnancies and I really rate the care I got for both of them. One ended in a loss this year and they were very very supportive with my care and aftercare and with my first which was during covid I have nothing for praise for them had all the care I needed and everyone was lovely. I went quite frequently near the end for reduced movements and obstetric cholestasis nothing was too much trouble

I've had all 3 of my children at Colchester- last being 2 weeks ago- it was an elective section but the care we got was great, I've been uo to the triage quite a few times for reduced movements etc and always been treated well, waits could be long at times but that's an issue all over the country atm with them being stretched

I've had no issues with Broomfield, not heard anything too bad about colchester though! Avoid Harlow I've never heard anyone had a good experience there and a few local mums want to chose Cambridge for their next one.
