What was your parents reaction to you being pregnant?

I got to tell mine tommorow and nervous.

My mother howled with laughter. In a nice way. My dad was thrilled - first and only boy in the family.

My mother laughed and all my friends just called me crazy 🤣
My kids all have huge age gaps between them so people thought I'd not planned on having more 🤷‍♀️

I really can't call this lol.

I hope my mum at least laughs. And dad happy. I could end both not happy and stressed lol.
I will feel like my 15yr old lol

She was thrilled when DS arrived, then again when DD arrived.

Told both parents and they both are happy. Think it come as a shock to them really.
I honestly thought my mum would say something she wasn't happy when I said we are trying but she was speechless and was over the moon.

I think it's going to be really, really funny to tell my step mum and MIL. I'm 44, but have always been a little subversive in my way. My step mum told me last year to be careful not to ruin my life by getting pregnant again. I didn't bother saying we'd been quietly trying to for a good long while. For them tbh it will be more about them reflecting on their own mortality than my age. With them, I want to wait until after the first trimester though just in case. I've told others closer to my own age already maybe because there is less stigma.

My DM said "oh haven't YOU got a big heart?" In the most sarcastic way. Clearly meaning that by having a bigger family, I'm implying that she was wrong not to so I don't thing she has a big heart (if that makes sense)

The fact is we wanted a bigger family, had always planned it and, no, the world does not revolve around you, mother!!!!!

10'years later, it doesn't bother me in the slightest 😉
