Baby items and clothing

When did everyone start their baby shopping? Did you wait until you knew the gender before purchasing clothes? All other baby bits did you buy gradually throughout your pregnancy?

Let me know I'm interested to hear from others, I really want to know when some of the baby/toddler sales are on does anyone know of up and coming ones? Girl loves a bargain 🤫

I waited until I was about 28 weeks before I bought anything. First purchase was a travel system that came with a car seat. Then got a cot. Basically big items first.
My sister went crazy and bought about a million outfits from eBay so I basically didn't need to buy any clothes for the first year. She bought a range of colours which I thought was lovely - my boy was dressed in all sorts - my favourite was a hot pink baby grow.

For bargains - I'd highly recommend second hand bundles of clothes. Frothier eBay it Vinted. I preferred second hand as you could get lovely brands for a fraction of the price. They grow out of things so quickly I didn't want to waste too much on getting new.

We went to the 20 week scan and bought a few super cute bits together. After that we were given lots of hand me downs and then filled in the gaps around 35 weeks. I know everyone says it but you really do need less than you think! We got tons of presents for 3-6 months and not much for older. I’m buying bits (UV suits etc) for next summer in the sales now

I didn't buy any clothes. I was given a whole load of second hand clothes by a friend and also people bought him clothes as gifts.
