Late booking - consultant led?

Hi everyone,

Due to not realising how far along I was I did not have my booking appointment with the midwife til I was 19 weeks. She mentioned that because I was late booking in I will likely be consultant led. Can anyone explain what this means and how it's different? This is my first pregnancy so I'm feeling pretty clueless.

Possibly because you missed the window for the Nuchal scan/tests? Just a guess. You'll get a consultant appt through and if they have no concerns they might just place you back on midwife care.
