BFN 3 days after period due ?

Hi everyone, I just wanted some advice. I know all of you mums / mums to be can be so helpful on these forums.

My period is currently 4 days late and I have regular 28 day cycles. There is no sign of it coming although I am having a lot of stretchy discharge. (Sometimes slightly yellow).

I did have sex the day before and day after O last month.

I used a cheap boots pregnany test yesterday. One of them didn't work and the other had 1 line. However, I'm not sure if I should take another test because being late for one is so unusual. And I am just feeling a little bit 'off'.

Any advice would be appreciated, I'm not sure if maybe I tested too early. As I don't know a lot about this sort of thing

Being 4 days late you would expect a strong positive test, but if it was a boots cheapie it probably isn't reliable. Try a clear blue test as they have a better rep

If you have regular cycles, at 4 days late I would think any test could pick up rising levels of the HcG hormone that indicates pregnancy. But it can't hurt to test again in a few days and double check.
Are you actively trying for a baby? Because stress can also impact period dates and throw off a cycle so please don't worry if things are just a bit off! Best of luck to you OP xxx

Agree about trying a more expensive test. I always have regular menses but when pregnant with my son I used a cheaper test and got a negative a few days late. Same day tried clear blue and got a faint positive.

Do you know for sure when you ovulated? I’m normally regular 28-30 but had one random cycle which was 42 days, so assume I must have ovulated late that month. I drove myself crazy and spent a fortune on tests!

Thanks for the helpful advice. I do not know exactly when I ovulate just going off my flo app. Seeing as my cycle is pretty regular I guess the app would fairly accurate most times. I've had a few weird symptoms such as a funny taste in my mouth and diarrhea. Just feels totally off to me. I may try a different test. Not trying but have been using withdrawal which I know isn't 100% safe. I will let you all know how it goes :)
