Im 36w PG today and a little concerned. Since about 10pm lastnight ive been getting VERY painful pains in my tum. There not consistant in any way but very painful. They feel like tummy ache pains but alot worse. Was awake until 7am this morning with them . Today there not as bad. Probably getting them about 2-3 times per hour and lasting from 5-20 seconds. Do they sound like Braxton Hicks? My tummy does go hard when its happening (i think ) but if they are BH why are they so bloody painful?

Stupid MW on the phone!
At least you know are better off going through most of your first phase at home.

Sounds like could be labour starting or simply baby turning, changing position, engaging.
One way or the other, sounds like a good time to practice breathing and other techniques.

How are you doing this morning?

I think (nearly 6 yrs ago now) I had similar pains at a similar stage with my first preg and it turned out to be a water infection. no problems weeing, but a urine test showed I had an infection. so get ye down to your GP tomorrow with an early morning urine sample, if the pains have not settled. and drink lots and lots (and more) fluid. or ring the out of hours GP service today if you are worried, they should be 1. nice and 2. should see you and check things out. that's what health professionals are (or should) be there for, to see people and reassure if necessary.

hope this helps and you are ok.
