Took a knock to the bump

I'm 32 weeks pregnant currently. I was just sat on the sofa and my 2 year old ran straight into me and hit my bump with some force. It hurt my as her point of contact was where baby's bum/back is. I've come upstairs to lie down and hopefully reassure myself with baby moving but she hasn't yet, only been 5 minutes though so I'm not freaking out just yet

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Drink some ice cold water see if bump moves.

Call your local labour ward or your midwife - just to put your mind at rest.

Long story short, my husband opened a door handle from the other side as I was leaning against it and I can still feel the pain 14 years later. It pressed down quickly and very hard from the top to the the middle of my bump and I was v worried. Midwife had a check and assured me that the baby is so well cushion inside, it would be fine and it (she) was and is!

Good luck and try to relax - I know it's a worrying time but I'm sure all will be fine

She is moving but not strong movements like she normally has

You will be hyper aware now because you are worried and waiting for movement.

It is a fact that when you are waiting for a baby to move time passes 4 times slower than usual!

Seriously if you are worried call the midwife. I was always advised to have an ice cold drink and wait 30 minutes.

Go get checked out, you’ll not sleep for worry and will regret not getting checked if you later learn baby is not okay.

Give your maternity unit’s triage/24hr number a call and get yourself seen.

How are you doing?

LittlemissMama67 · 05/08/2022 09:31

All is good I had a day care yesterday anyway where I mentioned it and all is well
