VQ scan in pregnancy safe?

Hey guys, so I went into A&E this morning because of a very fast heart rate (highest it reached was 140). They monitored me throughout the day and gave me a blood thinning injection too because they want to rule out pulmonary embolism. Tomorrow morning they’ve booked me in for a VQ scan at 9am and I’m really scared. I know how extremely important this scan is for me, but is it safe for baby? I’m 25 weeks pregnant and this is the first time I’ve gotten so far in any pregnancy as I have a history of recurrent miscarriage. I will of course be getting the scan done because I know that getting a blood clot can be life threatening so I really need to know if I have it or not. But I’m so scared for baby. Has anyone had this scan before in pregnancy and how did it go? How far along were you? Any replies would be great 🥺🥺🥺

This explains it quite well

the dose of radiation to your baby from the injection is relatively small, and compared to the risks of an untreated PE (blood clot), it’s the right test to have. I hope this helps, and it goes well tomorrow.

Thank you so much. 🥺
Chest x-ray is also safe?

They wouldn't do the scan if it was a risk to your baby. Getting to the bottom of why your heart rate is elevated is important for their health (and yours). It's understandable why you are anxious but do try to stay calm if you can as that will help to lower your heart rate. Hope the scan goes well x

The scan went well and thankfully there’s no blood clot. Thanks guys ❤️
