Hi everyone,
I have an elective section booked for 2 weeks today (8th August) when I will be 39+1. This was decided and planned from the beginning of the pregnancy.
I'm 37+1 now, but at 32 weeks I was told I have gestational diabetes which was initially picked up as baby was measuring big. Our last growth scan was 35 weeks and she's on the 95th percentile, but my obstetrician isn't concerned. She did say that she wanted to do one final growth scan at 38 weeks just to check if there's been any rapid increase in growth. I received the date for this today and it's the 3rd August, which is literally 5 days before the section is booked. Has anyone else had a growth scan so close to their C-section? It may just be standard practice, it just seems like it would make more sense to do the scan at the end of 37 weeks or beginning of 38 weeks so there's a bit more time if plans have to change? Just looking for other experiences/insights - thank you!
