Any positive stories after loss?

I’m 39 years old, and I have an 8 year old who is my whole world.

In 2019 we had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks. It was such a shock and it took me two years to find the courage of ttc again - we got pregnant in January this year. The pregnancy was extremely difficult and stressful throughout, and ended with a TFMR at 21 weeks due to severe ventriculomegaly. That was about two months ago.

Fast forward to last Monday and we had our follow up appointment with the consultant, who told us there was no apparent cause to the issue we had - we were simply very unlucky, again. She was very reassuring and told us there is no reason we cannot have another healthy child when we are ready.

Part of me wants to try again straight away - I am turning 40 in February and I feel time is not on my side. But I’m also terrified of having another loss. I genuinely don’t know if I could survive another loss emotionally and psychologically. At this point a successful pregnancy just seems impossible.

Are there any similar stories out there? How did you find the courage to try again?
