23 weeks pregnant - bleeding from bum? TMI

So I’m 23+2 and this morning I had a few spots of fresh red blood when wiping (from my bum). It was definitely from the back and not the front. Anyone have any idea what this might be? I was thinking piles but I’m not so sure tbh because it’s only a few spots only when I wipe, and it feels so sore when I wipe. Over the last few days I’ve had itchiness in that area (sorry TMI) and now it’s sore when I wipe my bum. There are probably small cuts there I was thinking? It’s sooo annoying though. Do I need to contact my GP or midwife about this, or what should I do because this hasn’t happened before and it’s so annoying!

Maybe piles or a small tear with the pressure of baby, are you getting a bit constipated, are you able to clean yourself properly.

This does sound like piles to me and mine started around that time too.

If they're internal then you probably won't feel anything around the anus but it can mean it's sore, itchy and occasional bleeding

I can't remember if you can use anusol or something for internal haemorrhoids when pregnant so might be worth a trip to the pharmacist

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but mine only got worse and then a LOT worse during labour so do make sure you are clear on what you can do during and after pregnancy as I was able to use much stronger stuff once DC was born

Good luck!!

@BlanketsBanned im not constipated, and yeah I’m able to wipe myself properly even though it does hurt because it feels like there’s cuts on the outside. 🥺

@ClingyClingy thank you so much. 🥺🥺
I’ll head to the pharmacy after work then, it’s so annoying. I got so freaked out when I wiped and saw blood, but then I realised it from the back. How did you get rid of piles? It’s uncomfortable to even sit tbh, it feels sore! There’s definitely cuts on the outside.

You can get soothing cream that shrinks piles and also suppositories but the best one need a prescription. Use soft toilet paper, unscented soap if you use it, if your bottom is sore you can dry yourself with a hairdryer. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I had this occasionally in both pregnancies around the same time even though I wasn’t constipated. Think it can be normal but always quite alarming to see.

Piles, get some pile,cream.

Hello and yes you should check with ur dr those do seem like hemorrhoids. Unless sorry for my TMI uv had constipation or anal so this could be fissure but usually fissures are associated with too much pain during defecation.

I had this - it was piles. I would ring your GP and ask for a prescription for something stronger than over the counter prior to labour though, I would rather give birth again than have the post birth piles that I experienced haha xx
