Whooping cough vaccine side effects

Hi all!

Had my vaccine yesterday at 26+1 and I’ve woken up today with the most annoyingly painful aching legs! Literally radiating from my feet to my thighs. Anyone else had this after the vaccine? If so please tell me it’s a 24 hour thing! It’s like growing pains and restless legs all in one.

I had no side effects at all when I had it with my first 2 years ago. But I do know aching is a side effect that can happen, I just hope it doesn’t last too long.

Oh no, I hope it goes soon for you. I’ve got my jab in half an hour and didn’t even think of side affects 🤦🏻‍♀️

I had mine 3 days ago and just had a sore upper arm. It was the combined tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis and polio jab.

Hhmm, I did feel quite tired that evening, but at 35 weeks I'm pretty much always tired 😜

@Samthenanny aw thank you! I’m hoping it doesn’t last long, it’s so uncomfortable! Hopefully you’ll just have the sore arm haha!

@Flederjo yeah I’ve got the sore arm to go with it which my toddler keeps grabbing hold of! It definitely knocked me out as I had the best sleep I’ve had last night since being pregnant!

I got mines yesterday and I feel horrid! Aching all over, joint pain, headache, hot and cold and upset tummy. Hope it doesn't last long!

ChloeHel · 01/07/2022 17:23

@Vkyz ah no sorry to hear. My symptoms are getting worse throughout the day too. Let’s hope we wake up fine tomorrow!

@ChloeHel how you feeling today? I'm still pretty achy and upset stomach.

ChloeHel · 02/07/2022 22:34

@Vkyz legs aren’t hurting as much but still a dull ache and I’ve got a bit of an upset stomach too! I didn’t expect this tbh! I was absolutely fine after my first two years ago.

@ChloeHel me. I wasn't expecting side effects as had none with flu jab and just tiredness with covid jab. Had a fever after whooping cough, aches, sore arm, and general soreness. Felt pretty terrible to be honest, but thankfully didn't last long.

It started evening of whooping jab and felt awful the next day. Was mostly back to normal day after that aside from some residual headache and other aches.

You should be back to normal soon.

Just jumping on this post as I’ve recently had my vaccination. And I’m aching all over, chills, headache etc. is this normal?
😓😓😓

Vkyz · 14/05/2023 08:45

@Rachel013seems like it can be for Some. Turned out I had caught covid at same time as my vax so symptoms probably that. Hope you feel better soon.

Hello I'm due to have my jab tomorrow but I'm seriously in two minds. I'm not a fan of vaccines in general for myself but this is for the baby. I'm 35weeks and super anxious. How is everyone feeling today?
