I was wondering if anyone has had a similar procedure to me
I have just suffered a postpartum bleed at 13 days. I lost 2.5 litres of blood and needed two transfusions and three different sorts of antibiotics. I'm absolutely terrified of a relapse and also the implications it could have to future fertility.
I had a normal vaginal birth to my 8lb 4 first baby. I had a 6 hr discharge and went home after minimal bleeding. However one week ago I passed two huge clots and called the midwife out, she said it was nothing to worry about despite a slight temperature and a headache. However come Thursday 13 dpp I woke up in a pool of blood and clots and was rushed to the hospital by my husband. They scanned me to discover a womb absolutely full and distorted due to clots, they gave me medication to try and pass them all but eventually opted for manual extraction where they put their whole hand in your womb to remove clots and tissue. They said they'd suck it all out but the consultant later said they used a hand to clear the clots, they think they found two bits of birth material that may have caused the bleed and infection but I'm really terrified my womb is filling up with clots again and laterally I won't be fit to have any more children.
Since the procedure I've had little to no blood loss which is a relief. Has anyone else had this where their womb made a full recovery? I was so frightened and now I'm sat in hospital knowing the worst is over but dreading the thought of it happening again or suffering with infertility, I don't know anyone else who has had this happen to them :(
